Smart T.V. Privacy Overview?
  • Just set up a TCL and it has a "basic" option which makes it work without anything. I'm still trying to decide if I should buy a Nvidia shield to pair with it so I enabled it "fully" for now, will probably switch it back. It's basically android so many of these behaviours are just like on android phones

  • [Weekly thread] It's Wednesday, which movies have you been watching?
  • Up in smoke: "classic" style weed movie

VHS beyond: I like the V/H/S movies style and watch every one of them, since they are anthologies there's always at least a couple of good episodes

    Deadpool & Wolverine: it's ok

  • YSK: Removable drives/thumb drives are potentially dangerous in Windows 11
  • This was used as an attack vector more than 15 years ago,I can't believe they re enabled it honestly. There was a virus on my school's pcs which installed itself on the USB keys and people just went home and spread it everywhere without clicking on anything thanks to autoplay. Also "asked to chatgpt" lmao.

  • ‘Velma’ Canceled After Two Seasons at Max
  • I honestly tried to watch it, up to half the first episode I was thinking "oh this could be cool, Velma as a smart standalone character solving misteries, must be the usual people whining about changes", then she started getting annoying and rude, bit sad because I think It could have been good. I'd still like to watch an episode so if anybody has a suggestion...

  • Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion (and Robs A Bank) [A Patient Review]
  • I liked the first one more than the second, I think the rogue lite mechanics were not a good fit for it. I also noticed the progression in the second one was kinda limited towards the end and would have liked some more sauce.

It may depend on which kind of game you like (Zelda like or rogue lite). But thumbs up for the first one for sure!

  • Today I'm grateful I'm using Linux - Global IT issues caused by Crowdstrike update causes BSOD on Windows
  • Yes but I upgraded to 555 at least a week or two ago and it started crashing a couple of days ago, I think there's an issue with explicit sync

explicit sync is used, but no acquire point is set

If you Google this you'll find various bug reports

  • Just paid my ADHD tax

I had to buy a plane ticket which costed 80 $, and since I needed to do two super quick checks before buying it I obviously waited a month. Plane ticket is now 280 $. Cheers
