How to start with sewing?
  • To add to the notes about getting a sewing machine, they're something that can be found at a lot of makerspaces, and I've also lived in several cities where you could check one out from the local library.

  • You can get away with one, and I certainly do most of the time. The 2nd one really only gets tossed on the bike for grocery store trips and touring.

    Edit: more thoughts

For commuting purposes, it can be nice to get one with organizer pockets, just so keys/wallet aren't always disappearing all the way to the very bottom

  • Not surprised. They always seemed really expensive. Like, I know they're gonna be nicer than a cheap Rad Power, but they're also more than the e-bikes offered by traditional bike companies. Especially important when a lot of local bike shops won't repair electronic things on brands they don't sell.

Also, lol, their website still just had rendered images of the bikes. Having seen them in person, yes, they look nice. A lot nicer than a lot of other e-bikes, but like, there's nothing that feels more like just backing something on kickstarter than a lack of actual photos of your bikes.

  • Portland is allegedly the second ‘wildest’ party city in America, report says
  • Looks like they scored it strictly on alcohol/cannabis/cocaine/strip clubs/casinos.

Guarantee the city ranked high mostly because of the marijuana and the number of strip clubs. Funny because the usage of pot here is pretty casual, feel like I'd compare it more with say, drinking coffee, than partying.

It's not my usual thing to be so extroverted that I create a place where people can introduce themselves, but I did.

    Have fun greeting new people!
