[Review] Cyansky HS7R – dual channel 21700 headlamp
  • Great review! Pretty interesting light with the 2 Osram flood emitters. The runtimes look pretty good for this light. Can this actually do a sustained 800lm for 6 hours per the manufacturer spec?

  • Diffusers helping prep wood for our campfire!

Mrs. Spicy wanted to have a campfire while we were camping this weekend, so I enlisted the help of several diffusers to light our site while I prepped our wood. Diffusers shown are the SP36 (coming soon), D18, Q8+, and IF22a (also coming soon).

    Clips – What a mess!
  • You are so much more organized than I will ever be! I also have no intention of ever using the pocket clips on my lights so it's no big deal.

I leave all my O-rings in the sun to bake. My rubber is not to be trusted!

  • Clips – What a mess!
  • I'm gonna need you to list all of the lights that these clips go with /s

I have a poorly organized bin that all of my light accessories live in. It is a rats nest of clips, o rings, lanyards, and extra tubes. Pure chaos.

  • [CLOSED] [Giveaway] AA/14500 battery holders and TS10 diffusers!
  • This would be sweet! The practical execution would probably be quite difficult, but I would love to be able to swap from 2700K to 4500K on the fly! Thermal sinking could be a challenge, unless maybe each emitter is mounted on its own MCPCB, and the MCPCB is the thing that gets swapped in and out. Thermal issues would still arise, but one can dream!

  • [CLOSED] [Giveaway] AA/14500 battery holders and TS10 diffusers!
  • This is such an excellent idea! USB-C programming would be so cool!I would want to be an easy visual interface for programming for sure. Even something simple like boxes where you specify number of clicks/holds and the actions that they perform.

Didn't 4sevens make some Bluetooth controlled lights (or maybe prototypes) back in the day? Bluetooth control doesn't seem super ideal for my purposes, but programming over Bluetooth would be awesome.

Things on Lemmy are going great! I am enjoying seeing the posts and the expertise that folks are bringing to this site. To celebrate, I'm going to give away some AA/14500 battery holders and some TS10 diffusers!

As always, you can get these items from me or download them to 3D print them yourself!

    What you can win:

    • (2) AA/14500 snap battery holders
    • (3) TS10 diffusers (Clear, Glow in the dark, Orange)

How to enter: Comment your most disruptive flashlight idea.

Here's my disruptive idea: Flashlight controlled by capacitive touch OLED screen. Swipe up for brighter and down for dimmer. Haptic feedback tells you cues (low batt, light turboed, stepdown, etc).

    • Giveaway is open from now until next Saturday, July 15th, 2023
    • 1 winner will be selected at random

Just my DT8 helping to change my oil on my Nissan Xterra.

I shoved it up into the frame so I could see the filter. The diffuser actually works better when it's upside down in this case! !

Emisar DT8 and DT8K diffuser (squarefuser?)

Download the 3D model from Printables! and print it yourself! Post a pic if you do!

Or you can get one from my website!

DT8 has a weird head shape, so it was challenging to make an end-attachment for the light. I chose to use white filament instead of clear because there were weird refraction effects due to the shape of the diffuser and the printed layers. I am quite happy with the white filament, so I may propagate that color into the rest of my diffusers!
