Anyone have any luck with growing lavender indoors?
  • Wouldn’t the fragrance just be overwhelming inside the house? Seems like it would be. They always strike me as insanely strong whenever I walk by them outside, I think having that in the house would just make me sick

  • Was working in the garden when I had a friend join
  • They're honestly much more of a nuisance in this area than anything else. Cool to see them about, but I forgot to close the garage door last week one night and had a bear come in and yank open the garage refrigerator (didn't come into the house, but I bet he would've been okay to try if he could!) and yank out a carton of milk.

  • Do you grow food, plants, or both?
  • Would you mind sharing a picture of the wildflower mix? What mix did you use specifically, and what zone are you in? What's the sun and rain situation like where you're at? When I look for wildflower yards, all I really see are examples of where it looks incredible, so that's inspiring but not necessarily realistic :/

  • Nah, they don't want to fuss with people for the most part. They're like giant raccoons, big fraidy cats. He didn't know I was there, if he had, he'd probably run off. They will do a kind of 'fake charge' at you if they really want you out of the way and they can't escape, but that's about it

  • I think this is one of the cubs I had seen last year roaming the property with their mother. He definitely thinks he owns my trash cans, at least, given how many times I've had to clean it up after he's torn through them.

Tried my hand at a vegetable garden in the past, and had miserable luck with it. To be fair, it was in some pretty crummy Maine soil that was full of rocks. Might have more success now though. Just curious what everyone is growing.

What I really want is a yard of just wildflowers. Better for the environment, less effort to maintain, and much more in keeping with my personality. I hate the fully manicured look. Only downside to that is ticks...so many ticks in New England...walking through it would likely be a horror show.

This dude just strolled through like he owned the damn place! Pretty bold.

Bumble bee bro on my cherry tree

At least I think it's a cherry tree. I'm pretty bad at gardening and knowing much about plants...
