FDA bans food additive found in citrusy sports drinks and sodas
  • I'm aware there are legitimate uses for it, I meant around foodstuff since it's not something that should be anywhere near it. I probably should've specified better. 😅

  • Devianart alternativ
  • What are the terms that say that? I just want to be sure because every few years I see uproar over misinterpretations of some social site's terms of service saying "we have the right to modify and redistribute your work", when all it means is that they can host and make slight modifications to the files you post.

  • Since America is bringing back kings what other kind of stuff is on your medieval wishlist?
  • Scaphism, but specifically for corrupt politicians.

  • Monster 310-mile automated cargo conveyor will replace 25,000 trucks
  • Because this is somehow more convenient for everyone than building high speed railways?

  • Great, now lets ban teflon next.

  • Devianart alternativ
  • There's sheezy.art and inkblot.art which are the ones I use, and Cara.app which I'm not familiar with but seems more professional (like artstation) than the former two. None of these are FOSS though.

  • Shit libertarians say.
  • Maybe not outright illegal, but I think it should be heavily regulated. I've heard way too many stories of kids being raised in isolation and barely being taught even basic math under the guise of homeschooling.

  • On the Internet, what is a dead giveaway that someone is actually a kid?
  • The thing with a lot of the methods mentioned is that I've seen both teens that are more mature than me, and people in their thirties that should probably have their internet privileges revoked.

  • would you do this?
  • Hi Rin

  • Cities: Skylines 2 achieves ultimate catharsis by deleting landlords to fix spiralling rent prices in its next patch
  • Yes, but some things have gotten fixed and its better optimized. It's still pretty unoptimized though iirc, and they made really stupid decisions like releasing DLC then delisting it when it got flak a few months ago.

  • would you do this?
  • Is there an actual list that has them in chronological order? Or at least the closest you can get to it.

  • Lemmy is a worse platform for women than Reddit was
  • Sounds like a you problem.

  • I just can't even.
  • Unfortunately, I've heard of people getting rejected from places for being unvaccinated because their particular condition, often in the case of rare ones, is one that doesn't qualify for "vaccine exemption" despite there being legitimate reasons for it.

Everyone who's able to should definitely get vaxxed, but the way the system currently works can be a problem for certain people who have actual reasons for medical exemption.

  • Lemmy is a worse platform for women than Reddit was
  • People get really upset over a hypothetical. I don't like posts that put all men down, but this wasn't one of them.

Also bears generally mind their own business as long as you keep your distance, with statistically less than one person per year dying from a bear attack in America. The last time it happened in my state was several years ago and due to some dumbass intentionally getting close to it to take photos.

  • Rule
  • It's actually used in a lot of veterinary clinics, so you're not far off.

  • Any good FOSS alternatives to DuoLingo?
  • Is there anything with Japanese? It's the language I've been learning (I took a class and have been wanting to study it further), but not all language learning apps have it.

  • Addiction is a scary thing
  • Similar reactions produced by particle accelerators are constantly happening all around us, and isn't just limited to extreme conditions like around black holes. This is just the same thing but at a much smaller and more controlled scale, and last I checked the sun hasn't produced any world ending black holes despite the far more extreme reactions constantly happening within it. A man even survived a high energy proton beam from one of those accelerators passing through his brain and was able to continue his career in quantum physics, so at that point I doubt they're capable of anything world ending.

  • Why is Lemmy obsessed with the word "enshittification"?
  • I think it's just everywhere now. I see it on Tumblr too.

  • Not like that
