They coming for reaction gifs now too?!
  • I don't understand why people think they can fuck with other people without provoking an unpleasant reaction. They're basing it on one side behaving with civility in response to abuse, and that's just fucking stupid. So yeah, burn the trolls.

  • Traeger smokes security bugs threatening grillers' hard work
  • Because some people want to jump straight into bbq without experience and have a bunch of money to compensate for knowledge about timing and when to test temps and what smells you're waiting for.

Also, more precise temperature control for the cook who wants to try out other methods for elevating their bbq game.

  • NCD is a transphobic community
  • I didn't even take it as satire on that, I thought it was just a weeb version of plane waifus and while I don't understand it I also am not threatened by accepting it may be a reality for some people. If someone wants to identify as an anthropomorphic attack helicopter because they want a helicopter waifu.... I don't understand but I don't have to to chuckle a bit and move on with my life. I don't know if that is a healthy view (mine) but it doesn't make me think of them as less human anymore that someone who likes pineapple on pizza. Sorry for the ramble, let me know if I'm off or missing something.

  • Daisy B-B guns - 1975
  • Oh I'm well aware of the capabilities of a bb gun. As were the manufacturers and they led with gun safety and responsibility in their own ad to prove the kid was ready for gun ownership. You don't see that these days. Hell probably not the last two decades at least. This just helps describe a decline in gun owner/manufacturing emphasis on personal responsibility with guns as it led towards fear mongering as a sales strategy.

  • Games that stuck with you
  • Mine's probably nostalgia tinged but here goes: FFVII, VIII, IX, and X I love the setting, I love the mechanic changes between the series from materia giving various boosts in 7 to the actual spell slots changing stats in 8 and the summons in 9, and blitzball in 10. The story for each was unique in their own world ending way and beautiful to run through. I replay them probably once every three-five years or so but they mark a high point for me. Adding to the list, Demon's Souls. I never fully understood the storyline behind it but the sequencing of zones around the central hub and the combat are some of my favorite aspects. I need another play on that soon.... It would probably be a little weeby of me to take some life lessons from them but they did help me to understand that hard decisions sometimes have to be made that include personal sacrifice and doing things that are unpleasant in order to move everyone forward and up.

  • We coulda had Bernie...
  • I will continue to complain about people who only show up once every four years and bitch about the choices. I do outreach pretty much every year in my local area for whatever election is up next, so seeing apathetic assholes who try to push that apathy on others instead of standing for what they believe the other three years is still going to rankle with me. If they can't hold their convictions and get involved then they should shut the fuck up about not voting when they can't bring themselves to. Don't vote, fine, but if you're not putting in the work for change don't try and bring everyone else down with your lazy shit.

  • The Futility of Wind and Solar Power in One Easy to Understand Picture
  • Wild take, maybe they should get the energy from a closer renewable source. Like offshore wind farms and current turbines located nearby? You can find a million bad ideas for literally any subject because greedy people want government money, but that doesn't mean the underlying idea isn't sound. Morroco is just a quarter of the world away, which makes this specific idea stupid.

  • We coulda had Bernie...
  • Didn't we have a whole impeachment about a president preventing arms that were allocated by Congress from going to their destination? Oh yeah that was Trump trying to get some election fuckery from Ukraine. Granted, the election aspect was another level on it but that is functionally the same thing you're demanding Biden do which was already determined to not be ok. President doesn't have that power so maybe instead of wondering why Biden isn't fixing the thing all on his own, we can start (or continue if you were ever paying attention between presidential elections) pressuring and replacing the Congress critters that are actually approving the sale of arms to continue the genocide. Why does everyone keep getting big man deluded when we know for a fact that the president isn't a king with total control?

  • We coulda had Bernie...
  • Dude. We don't disagree with you. We just differ in that apparently we don't like getting chastised about who to vote for by people who don't participate until the presidential election, but you're ok with that so long as it's "for social justice". I get it's for social justice and if they cared enough to post online they should care enough to show up supporting a local candidate that has their ideals when it's not the presidential race. Shit is hard to do and I don't appreciate putting in the work and getting bitched at by couch warriors. How has that not gotten across to you?

  • We coulda had Bernie...
  • I still see no context for "they should only focus on presidential elections" from "maybe if they paid attention in between elections, and not pout and withhold votes on election day".

The only time we hear them complain is when the presidential election comes up, so if we take that as a standard and ask them to focus on between that means pay attention to the elections that aren't the presidential one.... I am active in non social media campaigns, so when I see the lack of support there but massive support on social media every four years, it does drive the narrative that they don't care in between for the people that could actually do what they want. They're complaining about the final product while not involving themselves in any step of the process getting there, WHICH INCLUDES GETTING THE LOCAL REPS ELECTED TO SWAY THE DIRECTION OF THE PARTY BEYOND JUST THE PRESIDENT.

  • We coulda had Bernie...
  • Oh man, if only there was a way for them to force acceptance of these beneficial ideas. Like getting local reps elected who support those ideas to push the party as a whole farther towards those ideas. Instead of just saying "but it's for a just society!" Once every four years and then wondering why they never get support.

I agree it would be awesome if we could make a hard shift left and move to a more just society for everyone in it but dreams don't just pop into reality, there has to be work done and I don't see a lot of them helping out. Certainly not where I'm trying to gather support for the same ideas. Always "too busy to help" until a presidential election rolls around, which is fucking infuriating.
