Shawn and Abigail
  • I agree! Loved their chemistry, and that definitly could have been fleshed out a little more. All though, the choice to generally focus more on Jules, is still a good decision. But yeah, would not have minded a little more episodes with them.

    Announcement: Season 1 Rewatch
  • Yeah, it's a classic for sure! I remember watching in High School as well, mostly on Comedy Central.

What would be your prefered speed? Twice a week? On the weekend days? Let me know. Since it's all very new, i'm very interested in what people here want to see.

  • Windows 11's new AI Copilot is now available to try out in preview
  • That's right! And if there is no Group Policy that you can use to disable, than people will write a Powershell script for it to do so quick and dirty.

The widgets pane for instance was for some time only able to be disabled if you run Windows 11 Enterprise. Intune did not offer a policy for business OS versions. So quite quickly people just wrote a script in Powershell to do it themselves.

  • [UPDATE] C'mon son! Are you gonna be joining the Psych Rewatch next week?
  • I'm pretty excited for the idea of a Discord Server (or other platform) to extend the rewatch episodes with. But as you say, that would require a good team of moderators, or at the very least a team to start with. Right now this Lemmy isn't a lot of work because of the low volume of members/posts, but with Discord there will be more active moderation required.

Open question: Any people here interested in helping me run this Discord (or other) server for the purpose of live chat?

If not, we'll get around to it in the future because i like the idea a lot.

  • [UPDATE] C'mon son! Are you gonna be joining the Psych Rewatch next week?
  • No plans for a live chat yet, but i'm open to suggestions! It would be a comment thread for the first episode. I haven't looked at Matrix, IRC or Discord yet for something like this. What would you propose?

If enough people are interested in chat, we can make it happen. I'm just a one man show for now, so i'm gonna need some help at some point.

  • Announcement: Season 1 Rewatch
  • The thread for episode S01E01 will go live coming monday at around 8 PM / 20:00 o'clock CEST. I've never posted episode threads like these, so any feedback regarding time is welcome. I've settled on once a week, maybe we'll increase but for now that seems to be about right.

  • Paramount+ Purge Continues With ‘Inside Amy Schumer’, ‘Fantasy Football’ & Nickelodeon Content Scrapped
  • Inevitable crash of the Streaming Wars, the period of rapid growth is at an end. The pricing was enticing for a reason, because the economy enabled rapid growth in the then new streaming space. Content is still king and investing in great content just got wat more expensive when the interest rates went up. This means the services need to actually become profitable or get out of the game for how expensive it is.

Now it will be a question of what service is able to last, who buys who and what content owners will go back to selling their content to those who remain.

    Some more speculations from me:

    • We'll see more price increases across the board, and limitations of how you can watch content. (Thanks NF)
    • Ad free packages will become more expensive, or might even leave eventually.
    • Subscriptions with ads will become way more popular.
    • Smaller players like Peacock and Showtime might decide to just sell to who ever pays most and cease operations for their app.
    • Netflix and Disney might introduce new subscriptions that only offer a subset of their library

Edit: I think it is also likely that monthly subscriptions will become semi monthly or even a minimum of 3 - 6 months. If that doesn't happen, then series will become even way more spread out in their release dates as is currently the case. (Season 1: The Fall, Season 1: Gradient etc.)
