I was genuinely surprised that Quora was brought up as a Reddit alternative since like you said it was basically AskReddit, NoStupidQuestions, etc 24/7
I know Raddle and Tildes are open source. Not federated though.
What are your opinions on the other Reddit alternatives like Squabbles.io, Raddle, Tildes, etc?
So obviously a lot of us are partial to kbin/Lemmy but have any of you explored the other alternatives like Raddle, Squabbles.io, and Tildes?
I made an account on Raddle because r/egg\_irl and r/ennnnbyyy moved there and I also made one on Squabbles.io because some of the subreddits I joined had an analogous one on Squabbles.io. I haven't use either enough to form a good opinion on them. Raddle seems to be predominantly political, and I'm trying to limit my exposure to politics and prevent doomscrolling.
What are your thoughts on these alternatives?
@Roundcat Happy to see you with us!!! ❤️
I can often tell which of my dogs has walked into my room from their pawsteps
@melroy Thanks a million!
But Moana's animation was so beautiful...it was one of the best parts of that movie.
Why are blocked magazines still showing up in Random Threads?
I saw a thread from a certain magazine in my Random Threads and I decided to block it, but the thread remained even after refreshing multiple times. And when new random threads were shown, they pulled some from magazines I already blocked (I checked, I blocked those instances and it wasn't just a magazine from a different instance with the same name). Why is it doing this? This seems like it goes against the whole purpose of blocking an instance.
Are you unable to favorite/save/bookmark posts on Kbin? Like the same way you can bookmark posts on Mastodon?

I was super confused by that too.
It's worth noting, however, you're often able to post the link to a post on another Fediverse platform into the search bar of a Mastodon instance and interact with it from there. I was able to do that for a Pixelfed post.
I remember seeing a kid in my chemistry class play Zelda on his calculator! I never looked into how to do that though.
Wait, what makes him toxic?
