Is there any realistic way that Palestine can finally win this?
  • I can only see them winning with direct intervention from Iran and Hezbollah. Hezbollah uses this opportunity to launch an attack from the north. Iran starts sending barrages of missiles towards Israel's electrical grid and military targets, and Palestinians use guerilla tactics to distract them. The rest of the Middle East should embargo Israel during this conflict.

This actually seems like the perfect opportunity to attack, since the US army is drained of resources. The US strategic oil reserve is also pretty low, so if the US starts making threats, Iran can simply close the straight of Ormuz and the price of oil would skyrocket overnight. But I don't think any of this will happen.

  • DPRK supports Hamas. I think they don't even recognize Israel as a country.

  • Thousands of Germans protest the Ukrainian war
  • I don't remember the Crimean working class being obliterated.

  • Poland
  • The name is kinda funny.

  • Libs be like
  • Please lib, we know of your nuclear genocidal bloodthirst.

  • But liberals would allow a pro-nazi party into power, they'd probably even support it.

  • North Carolina Republicans create "secret police force"
  • Yes, but have you considered CHINA?!?!

  • I was assuming a hypothetical war between NATO and Russia. They'll have to conscript people and send them in suicide runs.

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • Anyone has good advice on how to escape conscription and hot to defect from the military?

  • KKE wondering why it's losing friends after calling China imperialist, hating the DPRK, only supporting Cuba and dividing MLs.
  • From the comments here, it seems they are being run by sellouts. This is bad, it's how the PCF collapsed.

  • Blur Nazi imagery
  • I also wish the nsfw tag could be more specific. Like nsfw - gore, nsfw - sexual, etc.

  • heated arguments with my dad
  • I've had some pretty heated discussions with my grandfather when I first became a communist. Eventually I just realized to him politics are a game. Sadly to a lot of people in the first world this is the case. Privilege clouds people's judgement. When they are too privileged, no amount of evidence will change their minds. After all, their privilege can only be maintained by the continuation of reactionary backwards policies.

Something that has made me much less frustrated about people becoming absolutely deranged about Russia, is the fact that Europe no longer has any cards to play on the world stage. From now on, this continent is headed for irrelevance, stagnation and decay. So Europeans can believe in the dumbest things possible, because they won't stop the progressive movements happening in the rest of the world. No matter how angry, racist and blood thirsty they get, they can't collapse Russia, they can't stop the rise of China, it seems they can't even stop Africa from regaining it's freedom.

  • Social media (as we know it) is dying
  • I once read an article comparing the number of active users on my space with those of pandemics. So basically social media is like a disease that has now reached global saturation and will only go down from here. Good riddance. It only served to enrich scammers influencers, control public opinion and invade the privacy of everyone. However, if chatrooms become the new way people share information, than this presents new challenges to the left. As spreading misinformation will be even easier, but at the same time, censoring leftist opinions will be much harder.

  • Ukraine will sue Poland, Hungary and Slovakia over agricultural bans
  • Yes please Ukraine, wreck the economy of your most fanatical supporters.

  • Pro-Russian sentiment in Poltava (central Ukraine)
  • Good to know. When this war is over, nazis shouldn't have a home to stay anymore. Ukrainians need to purge these nazis from their society for good. 0 tolerance for the far-right!

  • Portugals wasted potential
  • Everything was going well until the US put the CIA to work. They organized a front against the communists. Mário Soares, who was the face of this movement, was very popular. He was the leader of the Socialist party, a fake leftist party that claimed to want Socialist reforms, but with moderation. There were still sectors of the military which were fascist. The Communist party had several buildings bombed during the counter movement. During this time, a massive anti-communist propaganda campaign was launched against the Party, even accusing the leader of "eating children for breakfast".

The communists simply didn't have the numbers, military equipment or training to fight a civil war. And quite frankly by then, they had already lost a good amount of popular support. So this Social Democratic system was what we got as a result of the balance of powers. The workers right have been eroded over time and Portugal is just a STEM factory for the Nordic countries.

Let's get one thing clear because I see this confusion appearing over and over again. The PCTP was not communist, nor Maoist, not even leftist. It was just a fake communist party created to bash the real communists. That's all they've ever done. The UDP were just a bunch of ultras that never accomplished anything, but they still exist for some reason.

  • FVD, far right Dutch party, just made their party programme public
  • Don't forget that it's the far-right. They are extreme demagogues, they will easily backtrack on any policy they currently defend.

  • Political memes @ lemmy world
  • It's sad lemmy has become a place for blatant reactionary propaganda. Who controls lemmy?

  • EU is one of the greatest Nazi shit in this world.
  • Guess what EU? Americans also subsidize their economy, but only the idiotic EU neoliberal countries can't do that. It's infuriating being ruled by incompetent idiots. Instead of adapting, they complain others are playing by the same rules. Rules that are just designed to weaken your economy it seems.

Best country to host a private VPN server?

What countries do you think would be less likely to disclose your private data? I was thinking of either Switzerland or Belarus. But here's some things to consider:

    • Don't assume that just because countries have bad relations that they won't share private information with each other. For example, in 2021 the Mayor of Lisbon disclosed personal information of Russian immigrants in Portugal with the Russian government. This was an act of incompetence which resulted in a 1.2M€ fine. But the damage was done.
    • Even if there are laws in place, the hosting company might have sloppy procedures in place and disclose your private information.
    • The country should also not be the target of heavy sanctions because you might get in trouble for trying to do business with them.

So which countries do you recommend?

Limit the number of posts from a community on a user's homepage

So the new stream of users from GenZedong is great, but it's flooding the homepage to the point where all you see are posts from that community. So my suggestion is to limit the posts that a community can feature on a user's homepage, regardless of how popular they are. Just pick the top 3 or top 5 most popular posts from that day and show them.
