How is your experience on the Fediverse?
  • Feel pretty much the same. The echo chambers seem to be as bad if not worse than Reddit. People just don't want diverse opinions. Everything is black or white regardless of the problem. I will probably leave soon. I honestly don't feel like lemmy and the type of people it attracts are good for my mental health.

  • I tried. It was exhausting. I'm better now.
  • No one exists with views like this. I've done my research. I know! LOL

When faced with a different view point they can't fathom it's easier to say it is not possible than to have a rational discussion. It's easier to hate on people than to try to understand them. I find both sides to be extremely lazy in their thinking.

  • Men Overran a Job Fair for Women in Tech
  • With the ability to self identify I don't understand how an article like this can be written. How are you able to determine who is female, male or one of the many other genders without asking each person? How is it possible to say the conference was overrun by men? Wouldn't you have to infer their gender by their appearance which is inherently insensitive and problematic?

  • Not sure I can control whether someone hates me. I think most centrists would be considered passive as compared to the extremists on either end. I don't know too many hardcore moderates.
