Getting started questions (especially TrueNas SCALE + storage)

  • Have you thought of trying UNRAID. It will introduce you to world of docker. Lots of videos out there to get you started.

    Your hardware is fine for truenas.

  • OP, look into photosync in app store! I use this app to sync photos and videos from apple devices to samba. You can download photos as well.

  • I have not yet. I think its too early for me especially when there are limited information available. I hear Unraid team are planning for zfs on arrays on 6.13 which is still bit further away.

  • It would be an immense help to small brainer like me if there’s a guide for it. I am still running 6.11.5 because I am scared to jump on 6.12 as there are not many guides available. Most of the guides from IBRACORP and SPACEINVADERONE are getting old.
