The race for "Worst Dumpster Fire" is heating up. Everyone place your bets!
  • I don’t think that’s what he wanted initially.

Chinese authority doesn’t like twitter. Tesla was incentivised by the Chinese gouvernement to come to china and grow the EV market there. Tesla had a lot of very nice and attractive loans and business opportunities. China alone is now 32% of sales for Tesla. Muskrat buying twitter and driving it to the ground serve the Chinese interest, and I would not be surprised to hear there was an agreement to something along the lines of “you buy this, you do shit with it, we close our eyes on our loans” from the Chinese.

For the nazis, it’s all about the Tesla factory in Texas. Texas is quite red, when COVID happened and California was closing down Tesla factory in Fremont, Shit-face was opening his new factory in Texas. Democrats were all in for the Covid measures. Going strong with anti-vaxxers and republicans gained him favors in Texas, to be able to use his slaves, sorry employees despite the pandemic.

Down the line, I think this psychopath is only doing what all billionaire does: using his money to make more, more, more, completely ignoring the consequences. The only thing that drives him is making more money. Not with Twitter, but with using twitter to get what he wants…

  • [How is your day going?] 29 August
  • Oh I understand 100% ! Hanging a car is so life changing for me, living in the countryside it’s so much more simple now. When I lived in the city, it made no sense, now than everything is 45 minutes in bus away, with buses every hours when I’m lucky… I’ll be thinking about you, good luck !!! 🤞

  • I got my driving license yesterday (at almost 40 yo). My dog is fine, she has conjunctivitis, has a treatment and is right as rain again. I drove to work for the first time today, shortening my commute time from close to 1 hour to 15 minutes. I’m happy.

  • I have my driving exam tomorrow. I’m stressed as hell. I’m almost forty and postponed it a bit too much. Not sure I’m ready. Not sure I ever will be. Also my dog has a small issue with an eye, it’s a bit red and has pus, so I have to take it to the vet, but if I fail my exam tomorrow then it’s with the bus, which is… complicated. Looking forward to tomorrow being over to be honest !

[EDIT] I passed ! And my dog has just conjonctivites, which can be very easily treated. Am happy.

  • Firefox on iOS without webkit ? In progress or abandoned ?

    Hello all,

Firefox on iOS is for me lacking something : it's own engine. As Apple is forcing browsers to use their own engine, WebKit, Firefox on iOS is in the end not a lot more than a wrapper to Safari. And I'm not happy with that.

I remember reading news last year that Apple will be forced by the EU to get rid of this limitation and allow browser to use their own engine.

I stumbled upon a lot of articles dating February stating that Firefox is actively working on having Gecko on iOS, but I cannot find any news about that since.

Do somebody know where we stand with that ? Is it abandoned, still in progress ?

Firefox is my number one browser of choice, and the only mature and good alternative to Chromium based browsers today. I would love to be able to use it on my phone as well as on my desktop...

I'm having a tough time choosing my next android smartphone, any ideas?
  • Hey OP ! I'm digging this back up, I found a smartphone that might interest you (with a few caveats) : The Nokia G42.

It's an interesting one ! Built to be durable and reparable. It's a smartphone, but Nokia worked with iFixIt to design this model; you can remove the back cover to "easily" change the battery, the USB-C port and the screen. It has a headphone jack (even if you don't care), a decent screen (90Hz, 720p though), has expendable storage to 1To, approximately 2 days of battery life (Nokia claims 3 days), it's "cheap" (can be found where I leave to around 230 euros) and has take decent photos (for its price). Not sure about rooting this one though !

The main issues from my point of view are updates (3 years of security update is OK, but 2 years of guaranteed Android updates is short), and the processor, which is quite weak. Not sure how it will perform in newer version of Android.

  • Very hard on that price range. Above your price range sits the Asus Zenfone 10 (the 9 is really good as well), which covers a lot of your points. The 10 allows you to disable everything and have stock Android experience. Not bad ! Not sure the 9 had that.
