  • @michel @Olgratin_Magmatoe @ClearCutCoconut I've another thing to add: Please ask for help before getting frustrated! The #FreeCAD community is awesome and they're willing to help you a lot! The forum is the best place to get high quality assistance: http://forum.freecad.org/

@michel is right. Every CAD suffers from it and the software may does a lot of heavy lifting to not let the user recognize it. It's not easy to solve but we're heavily (!!!) working on it. You can find updates regarding the toponaming project in every WIP Wednesday https://blog.freecad.org/2024/04/10/wip-wednesday-10-april-2024/

@Olgratin_Magmatoe @ClearCutCoconut I'm very sorry for your bad user experience! What you've described, sounds like some basic user errors which would've been easily solved by sticking to good modeling practices. To be honest, these aren't always easy to follow / learn in the first place. If you're interested, have a look at the wiki: https://wiki.freecad.org/Feature_editing#Advice_for_creating_stable_models

  • @michel @Olgratin_Magmatoe @ClearCutCoconut Ondsel aims to contribute there changes upstream. This isn't a hard fork which evolves separately from the main branch. A unique feature is a cloud based collaboration solution (paid). I recommend this episode of the Open Hardware Manufacturing Podcast: Ep. 12 - Improving FreeCAD ft. Brad Collette from Ondsel
