for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
  • I'm not 100% hating reddit right now, though I do hate them a lot. So not deleting my >10yo account or anything....but I do recognize that this is near the end.

The default app is garbage. I'm someone who likes my feed and interaction set up EXACTLY to my liking. So losing any customization, etc is just going to make me like it less, use it less, etc.

But I know that eventually, once they have control over how you interact with Reddit, it will only be a matter of time until it looks like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter: ad-filled, "suggested content" GARBAGE. I honestly can't use any of those sites/apps anymore they're such cluttered wastelands, I don't know how people stand it.

So I guess less heartbroken, and more like dread as I know the enshittification of reddit is just getting started...

LOTR cards in EDH - do you mix it in with your other decks?

Not to turn this into a conversation about whether UB is good or not....let's assume we're all ok with EDH-legal UB cards like LOTR, 40k etc. because we have no choice anyway:

Seeing these LOTR spoilers, I see cards that are pretty good and think "that totally would fit in with my < deck x > deck" - but then always catch myself for thinking how odd it would be to immediately pull out Frodo or Gandalf or one of the other main LOTR characters in a deck that is otherwise 100% MTG IP. It's somewhat immersion-breaking, which I know is strange for a catch-all format like EDH.

I have no problem with the set overall though, and might want to even build a LOTR commander...in which case I'd try to use 100% in-set cards. But don't want to mix any of it with regular MTG IP cards.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Anyway - just saw there was EDH on lemmy, and thought I'd get the conversation started with what was on the top of my head!
