Redditors, how do you like Lemmy?
  • I also wonder/hope if specialized Lemmy apps can paper over friction issues like these. For example i know that RedReader prefers viewing the cache of pages if recent

Edit: and oh lord please fix the cross-instance community links 😭

  • Redditors migration is impossible if they're recommended hundreds of alternatives (see link)
  • I get really annoyed about the acrid pushback because of Lemmy's creators, and I usually deflect to unaffiliated server hosts or if it's really strong, mention kbin since we all connect freely.

It's just so important to me that the migration goes to a federated platform and not another central one.

  • Sad to see Reddit go
  • I want the more the merrier as long as we can moderate the more toxic tendencies, but at this moment I'm also pleased that much of the folks and vibes are much like reddit when i first joined

  • Sad to see Reddit go
  • Here's hoping that the Lemmy API proxy can expedite a transition to allow these apps to stay useful after June 30th. It would be a beautiful sight to have diversity of clients here, and especially supporting the fediverse answer to Reddit instead of the centralized competition.

I would even be happy to see kbin growth because we on Lemmy don't lose out 😅

  • It should be celebrated with horns! (Silo Appreciation Thread)

Please mark book and show spoilers

I understand it's not the best sci Fi out, but when I was young City of Ember was a favorite book of mine and in Minecraft I loved underground structures. I love how Juliette is shrewd but imperfect, even frustrating. The show and books are getting different more each episode but in ways that add intrigue by fleshing out characters or hardly explored parts of the silo in each other.
