What phone are you using?
  • Currently on an iPhone 13 Pro and M1 MacBook. I previously had a Pixel 2 for many years, and many Nexus phones before that. My love for Android hasn’t faded, but iMessage (or really just seamless text message forwarding to my computer in general) was too alluring; I find myself using fb messenger more and more though, so that’s kind of a moot point now. Whenever I next upgrade I’ll probably go back to Android unless I find some new killer app or integration on iPhone.

I’ve been on macOS for over a decade though and I don’t see myself switching from my MacBook though unless competitors can double their battery life and improve their trackpads.

  • [Discussion] What would you like to see here?
  • Love those too! Pretty sure they're posted manually? Or at least they don't appear to be made by a dedicated bot account. It's up to us to be the change we want to see.

Although setting up a bot to poll from start.gg and automatically make those posts sounds like a fun weekend project.

  • Recommendation for a wireless mechanical split keyboard
  • I hopped around different ergo boards for about a year before settling on a Mistel MD770, which has been going strong for nearly 3 years. Basically a standard compact board just chopped in half. Not too many bells and whistles, but I find I don't really care about that. Relatively cheap at ~$200 USD and no soldering needed. It just works out of the box. :-)

For me, a split + slight interior tilt was all I needed to get fully comfy. Tenting, ortholinear, columnar, dvorak etc were a pain to learn or just superfluous.

  • The green bubble problem is about to get even worse
  • I'm not convinced. iMessage offers a fundamentally better experience over SMS with reactions, read receipts, stickers, higher quality images, etc. Contact Posters just provide a nicer UI for accepting/denying a call, but the experience of the call itself is unchanged. If anything, FaceTime is the iMessage equivalent to phone calls.
