A general sentiment i've noticed
  • I still can't stand her

That's the point of the meme, lol

But also they specifically made her character unlikable. You were supposed to find her irritating in comparison to Walter, who is an objectively worse person. I think that was almost the entire point of her, to make you side with an objectively bad person over the other slightly less objectively bad person.

  • we all know someone in this pic
  • Mum, the beige ladies are outside my window again

  • Voter ID in England led to racial and disability discrimination, report finds
  • I think it means they're less likely to be able to identify that the ID photo is the same person as the one standing in front of them. It's the other-race effect, which I understand is quite natural for people of all races that have less experience with other races.

  • Liz Truss to ‘share lessons’ of her time in government in new book
  • I wish the lesson she learned was "I'm somewhat stupid and short-sighted, and definitely shouldn't be a politician or any other kind of public figure"

  • Caribbean nations set to demand royal family makes reparations for slave trade
  • If they ever get anything, it will be millions at most. There's no chance the firm will give up any of the real wealth. Good luck to them though, I would love to see some of the fortune actually put to good use somewhere. They don't appear to use it to help anybody here.

  • If you had them make this drink without the coffee, it wouldn't taste the same... That's like saying people drink old fashioneds because they don't like the taste of whisky. It's an ingredient.

  • I feel like an alien in this thread because I hated the theme for the first two seasons but just started the expanse season and think the updated theme sounds much better. It's definitely weird they chose that season to change it though.

  • Anon plays “Pumped Up Kicks”
  • Is Brazil trying to kill music? :(

  • Experts sound alarm over concerning ‘propaganda’ found in public school curriculum: ‘It’s evil more than it is stupid’
  • There is more info about the content of the videos in the Guardian article.

  • Apple security updates could be banned by British government
  • Tory governments regularly ignore expert advice, even when they have commissioned that advice. Look into immigration and drugs policy in the UK and you will find the government often does the opposite of what experts advise them to do. It's one of the ways you know they have an agenda other than "doing the right thing" or even "doing what is best for the country".

  • Lucy Letby: nurse found guilty of murdering seven babies
  • This is exactly where my mind went. I can't imagine she was just leaving school and decided becoming a nurse would be the best route to killing babies. Or maybe I just don't want to.

A common thing with killers is that they enjoy the rush, I wonder if that's something that developed while she was working, as in she felt that during her legitimate duties and had to push it further and on her timetable.

    A monster, regardless.

  • That situation sounds totally different though. I don't think this girl would have gotten a life sentence for dental injuries and a damaged helmet in Ohio either, lol

  • Baldur’s Gate 3’s Success Puts Starfield Between a Rock and a Hard Place
  • I wish BG3 had interaction between player characters in coop, I seem to remember DOS2 having that but it's been a while and I never finished it.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3’s Success Puts Starfield Between a Rock and a Hard Place
  • BG3 is great. I'm at the end of act 1 in single player and a bit further back in coop. But "redefined what an RPG can be"? Am I going crazy or is this just the usual hyperbole for the latest game?

Starfield is probably going to be very similar to previous Bethesda games, as usual.

  • No bail for Chicago man accused of fatally shooting 9-year-old girl 'completely unprovoked'
  • That is fucking horrible... Single dad who lost his wife to gun violence as well.

  • Regarding the “Rust” shooting.
  • I'm not sure what his involvement as a producer was, but I know a producer doesn't "pay the bills". It's a vague enough term that it could mean he was showrunning, writing, financing. Prett much anything. It could be that he wanted the title for awards or it could be that he had many responsibilities including ensuring that the professionals involved were qualified and experienced enough for their roles - from what I remember, the armourer and some camera crew were probably not.

Sorry, I didn't follow this case so I don't know all the details.

  • Regarding the “Rust” shooting.
  • I thought it was because he was a producer.

  • bad habits (not an ideal boy) rule
  • He's obviously a bad person but wow, what a life. The synergy of the prostitute baby to abortion clinic to stem cell grift, bravo little man

  • Swimmers avoiding the water over fears of raw sewage on UK beaches
  • We just have to keep going and wait for the market of regional monopolies to correct itself.
