Folks of Lemmy, what would you like for all your sexual partners to know/understand?
  • So if she had been out of a relationship for, say, a year, and had bought a box at the start of the time, used half of them on different partners, and then used one with you it'd have been fine? At least from the condom perspective, never mind that she has casual sexual encounters and that's never cool. Good luck on your gymnastics journey.

  • Let me ask you this. If she just had a few loose condoms in her purse, would it have turned you off? What about a couple spare in a wallet? The assumption I would make is she bought them to have them handy (hah) not for a specific partner. It's the same as a guy keeping a condom on him.

  • No common rube
  • Then you look at the uptime. 247 days. No longer have you been elevated. Now you're the vilest of vile. You're the user that lies. You just say what you think we want to hear, don't you? Well, now you're getting put on hold. For as long as your uptime was.

  • Restored my faith a little
  • I think there's also an aspect of, previously we had some ignorance is bliss going about. You didn't know, like we do today, the vast breadth of wealth possible. The near infinite possibilities that some can attain when others are simply struggling to exist. Sure, you had a concept that there are some powerful people with fuck you money out there, but it's beaten into our heads daily now.

It's almost reminiscent of kings and serfs, except that the extent of what's possible for today's "kings" is so vast that the kings of old look like serfs in comparison. The gulf between the ends of the spectrum has only increased, and drastically.

  • Fortunately it's decriminalized where I am. No one actually cares unless it's a heinous amount. Still tho, it's grounds for eviction, piggies sniffing about, nosy neighbors... Til it's a bit more safe to do so, I'll stick with buying whatever's available, a bit less fortunately.

  • Neverminding the evidence to the contrary.
  • This is the way. Slow, incremental changes that are sustainable. It's how you change your life, it's how we've changed society. Nothing happens overnight. Going from eating meat daily to having a vegetarian night a week is a win, celebrate it.

  • Neverminding the evidence to the contrary.
  • Point being that there is land that is capable of raising livestock and not crops. If you broaden the number of people eating exclusively plants, you need more farmable land, and while that may be possible in the long run, it's not without some significant change. A more practical solution is to reduce where possible, and make slow changes that don't completely uproot ways of life.

  • If it were a fight club, they'd be perfectly dressed in... Pretty much anything, so if it WAS fight club, the guard is just being a guard. At least that's how I'd interpret their comment.
