100% agree. You mean I'm gonna have to listen to Brother Lampard ramble on about his experience living in Guatemala for the rest of eternity? I'll be searching out the fire and brimstone out before the end of the first week.
Swears are a sledge hammer. Many tasks don't require a sledgehammer. But sometimes you need a sledgehammer.
I'm not even into magic and I'm offended
And, depending on where in the world they go, they may have to walk a lot to talk to people about the walk.
Since they don't appear to be on Hoopla your best bet might be trying an Inter-library loan for the "Marvel Masterworks: Golden Age Captain America" books. This page should have all the information you would need for the request, though check with your library for the specific method https://www.marvel.com/comics/collection/39345/marvel_masterworks_golden_age_captain_america_vol_1_trade_paperback
As a heads up, Marvel has only reprinted issues 1-20 and 76-78 of the original "Captain America Comics" series. You specifically mentioned Jack Kirby in your post, so if you're only interested in stuff he worked on you're fine, as he only did issues 1-10 and then left Timely until he returned in the late 50s or early 60s. But if you're interested in the entirety of the Golden Age stories then the only way currently to read pages 21-75 are to purchase physical versions (which is impossible for most people) or pirate them.
Thanks for this! I've been trying to be better at just this sort of things at my tables, so your videos are coming at the perfect time.
But you are trying to maximize fun, so if these types of skills help you increase the fun at your table then it's good to implement, regardless of whether or not it's usually viewed as a "workplace skill".
I'm intrigued, what kinds of things?
Not only am I going to pick it up, I'm gonna try and eat it
That's fair. I haven't watched the show so I wasn't sure what it entailed.
I'll check those out. Thanks!
Hulk reading suggestions similar to the TV show
My dad has talked about potentially getting into comics, particularly the hulk as he grew up on the Lou Ferigno TV show. I'm not well versed in hulk lore, is there a run that matches the vibe of the TV show? Preferably something collected into a trade.
The only way iron man could win is if it's funnier for bugs to be beaten. But I can't personally think of a scenario where a billionaire with enough weaponry to destroy a city beating up a bunny is funnier than the reverse.
Unfortunately a lot of that stuff is hit and miss. For Captain America Comics specifically, Marvel has released reprinted and digital copies of issues 1-20 then 76-78. To read 21-75 you have to either get a hold of physical copies (very expensive) or pirate them (where many of the scans are poor quality).
For the ones available digitally, Marvel Unlimited is probably the best option. For not-technically-legal scans I personally used https://readcomiconline.li/ but I know other people don't like their UI (and I think the ads can be pretty bad but I use an ad blocker that seems to cut it all out)
I don't understand the concern. If you want to read a comic, do it. The existence of the MCU doesn't inhibit that. Maybe I'm missing your point though.
Totally agree. The phrase "superhero fatigue" has been thrown around since age of Ultron.
Honestly this is why I prefer the "alternate universe" theory. I know the writers claim he stayed in the main timeline, but I don't buy it exactly for the reasons you mentioned. Alternate universe lets him fix problems rather than just letting all that stuff happen.
Replacing limbo turn 6
It doesn't always work out, but I love changing limbo to something else on turn 6. Suddenly making the game shorter than my opponent expected just makes me giddy. (Chavez had also just got pulled over by my Polaris, I'm assuming they were planning on putting Odin in that final slot to get an army of tiger spirits set up)
My biggest comeback yet
Wish I had gotten a "before" picture, but with multiple instances of storm breaker being activated, my opponent had triple digits in both the right and left lanes. But with this they had also filled every spot on their side of the board. I had only just drawn my Valkyrie and realized that with it being duplicated by sinister London I could wipe out all those buffs my opponent had put in while my ongoing buffs from blue marvel would still apply. They must have been shocked when I snapped despite being massively behind in every lane 😂
Freaking Ego...
Had to retreat before the turn ended because Ego apparently thinks playing green goblin when the opponent's lane is already full is a great idea.
Maybe this is my punishment for playing a junk deck 😂
I wonder if something like the buff to angel would make him somewhat viable, where he would come on the field even if he's in your hand.
I know that means you'd have less reason to actually play the card when you do have him, but at least his ability would have a better than 25% chance of activating.
I can't believe it, but not an hour ago I was playing with him in my deck purely to get boosters and upgrade him, only to have him come in clutch on a match and get me the win.
M'Baku was actually useful?!?
I made a post recently lamenting my most recent cache containing M'Baku. Well, I recently put him in my kazoo/Patriot deck just to get some boosters. After the final cards revealed themselves I saw I lost and was getting ready to queue up a new game, when there was a flurry of motion on the screen and I saw the "Victory" logo. I hadn't realized that M'Baku had activated and went to just the right spot to make me win by a single point. I know that one instance doesn't suddenly make him a good card, but I found it ironic considering my recent post.
I like the concept but it's just not good enough. There's a decent chance it'll not be in the deck at the end of the game, and it seems like it's a random location rather than something like Captain marvel that actually calculates things.
I would personally HATE this. Moreso the levels than the gear. Maybe a single session or dungeon that I know is going to be short, but if I had to regain those levels I'd contemplate leaving the campaign.
3 Rank jump at each reward
I noticed this when I jumped from 50 to 53 and thought I was just confused, but it happened again at 60 where as soon as I hit the milestone I was suddenly 3 levels higher. Anyone know why this is happening?
These are seriously some of my least favorite locations
Machine world is the least bad of the three and even it isn't great. Weird world may be my least favorite in the whole game.
Skaar Deck
Considering that project pegasus let me play Infinaut on turn one, and then Skaar turn 4, I'm surprised my opponent waited so long to retreat.
Battle of the Thors
Unfortunately my Mjolnir was destroyed when the middle location changed to Lamentis-1
Kazar + Patriot dream location
Normally I hate this location but I'm currently trying out a deck with kazar and Patriot, so I was actually pretty excited for it.
