Taiwan reports second large-scale China air force incursion this week
  • Yea, it feels like 4chan suddenly saw the light and then turned far-left all at once

Exactly this. They're running around spewing barely-sensical insults acting like they're dunking on people, but all their really doing is turning off anyone who was ever possibly sympathetic to their cause. And are completely un-informed on top of that

  • Gen Z will be last generation with white majority in US, study finds
  • The one and only sane comment in this whole thread. If whites are a majority, so be it. If they aren't, so be it. Stop obsessing over titles (that (general you) claim are a social construct anyway) and get on with your own life. This is........not important.

  • Possibly, I didn't look where they're all from, nor do I know what hexbear is or why it's significant. Sounds like some kind of intra-Lemmy drama which I'm not too interested in. Just noticed a fair amount, lets say........not totally organic, seemingly agenda pushing comments.

Edit: Forget my previous comment. I now see the problem with Hexbear.

  • Why you shouldn't use Brave Browser
  • Who cares? As liberal I'm sick of the mellow-dramatic outrage culture. People aren't perfect. Who knew? If you don't use brave what's the alternative? Google, who is much worse? Maybe "don't let perfect be the enemy of good" and stop using the lefts social capital to alien people over small personal gripes.

I notice people who write these types of articles never open themselves to the same sort of scrutiny.

  • Please don't let this turn into an anti-feminist, misogynistic, right-wing, tribal community
  • Please don't let Lemmy turn into the unthinking, authoritarian, hyper-left, anti-male circlejerk that reddit became. Please go spend your time lecturing female-centric instances on proper conduct if you're really concerned about it......or just stay on reddit.

  • Removed as moderator of /r/Celebrities after over 14 years
  • A lot of the moderators are/were quite abusive and unbalanced in the way they handled their unearned "power." Not only do a lot of the users not care, many are probably happy about it in the same way many of you were happy when subs were banned and those users left reddit. Reddit has been terrible for years now. The users who are currently leaving due to moral issues with the site are the same users that constantly have moral issues with everything and constantly complain about everything and try to police everyone else. While I no ;onger like reddit and will be happy to see it fail, I can't see the removal of long term moderators and the mass migration of the loudest complainers of the site as anything but a positive for the overall experience of the average user there over the long-term. It's inconvenient now, but that will not last. When things resettle without legacy powermods and the overwhelming voice of the pearl-clutching, concern-troll users........I can't see that as being anything but a net gain for the average user. So not only do they not give a fuck, but to the extent they do, they're probably quite happy to have you gone.

There have been multiple mass migrations away from reddit at this point. The site keeps going, the people still there are glad the others left, and those leaving are the only ones who view their departure as a significant event.

  • I'm honestly quite happy mods are being removed. Reddit has had major problems for years and their moderators are HUGE part of it. The sooner the old mods go the better. I bet OP has removed hundreds or even thousands of posts and users with impunity and no second thoughts. They are only upset now that the same treatment they have given out so freely has now happened to them. It's really poetic justice in my opinion.

  • Entire mod teams of r/interestingasfuck, r/TIHI and r/mildlyinteresting KICKED out. Some even locked out of their accounts
  • I don't support what reddit is doing in regards to 3rd party apps........ thing is I don't support much of what reddit has done for the past 7-8 years. You guys are just now catching on that reddit has ceased to be a viable platform even though in reality its death happened long ago. A big part of the problem there is moderators themselves, especially in the bigger subs. So yeah, I don't support reddit, but I really couldn't care less about how the mods perceive themselves to be mistreated either. Basically they are getting just a tiny taste of the treatment they've given the average user for years and suddenly just right now they FINALLY see it as a problem. Cry me a river. You reap what you sow.

  • 📢Entire mod team on r/mildlyinteresting removed and locked out of their accounts after changing their rules upon community's request.
  • Mods don't typically give 2 shits about what users want either. I don't support what reddit is doing, thing is I don't support much of what reddit has done for the past 7-8 years. You guys are just now catching on that reddit has ceased to be a viable platform even though in reality its death happened long ago. A big part of the problem is overzealous and power hungry mods, especially in the bigger subs. So yeah, I don't support reddit, but I really couldn't care less about how the mods perceive themselves to be mistreated either.
