I am considering installing TikTok. Any suggestion on how to make it less privacy-invasive?

  • You could try proxitok, which is a frontend for tiktok, similar to nitter for Twitter (now X) or invidious for Youtube.

    You can set a creators page as a bookmark for example.

    Since I haven't used it for a long time I'm not sure how many instances are up or how performant they are. But I think it could be worth a try

    Can't connect to devices on the same network on Jellyfin

  • I hade the same issue recently when I tried jellyfin server on my windows PC. In my case the private/public Windows Firewall setting was not successful.

    But what helped was to open the windows firewall settings and to allow jellyfin do access the privat/public network. You can access the setting by opening the "allowed apps" section in the windows firewall settings.

    Maybe this helps some other folks in the future 😊

  • Falls du ein PC mit Windows 11 hast, kannst du dank dem Windows Subsystem für Linux jegliche Android Apps installieren. Ich habe zb darüber die 2FA App Aegis installiert (ist open source, kann über GitHub oder fdroid heruntergeladen werde), als Backup zu meinem Handy.

    Im großen und ganzen muss man nur über den Windows Store den Amazon App Store herunterladen (der bringt das Subsystem gleich mit) und die App WSA Tools. Ist das mal eingerichtet, kann man APKs einfach per doppelklick installieren
