This sucks :(
Yeah, I thought it was strange to pair Matheson and Savard together; not sure they should stay together for too long, but I can’t say they worked poorly together. But then again, it’s the first game of the season, so I might get proven wrong.
I think Guhle benefits from a mobile partner in general, but I am not convinced Kovacevic is the right person for him. We’ll have to wait and see.
Yeah, the second period has been kryptonite for some time.
A quick change of subject: what did you think of pairing Guhle with Kovacevic, and Matheson with Savard?
Second line
I was quite impressed with the Dach/Slafkoský/Newhook line, and I think they deserve a fair shot together. Sure their defensive play needs to be tightened, but I think this could be something interesting.
What do you guys think?
If enough people get off it, the city will be forced to find a better way of communicating with its resident.

Five obstacles facing the Habs in 2023-2024 playoff push
The Montreal Canadiens are in a better position to compete for a playoff spot in 2024. That doesn't mean they'll make them, though.
I agree, I would put Hoffman’s contract ahead of Allen’s. But I guess the author doesn’t see it that way?
The case for leaving prospects in Europe
The Montreal Canadiens European prospects' development shouldn't be rushed. They need more time overseas before coming over to North America.
I think there is something to be said for leaving prospects in their European leagues if we want to take player development seriously.
Worst contracts for 2023-2024
You have to believe, if Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes could, he’d trade away any if not all of the five below deals:
I love Gallagher, but I can’t deny he is the worst contract on the team right now.
If we retire Markov’s number, then we have to retire Price’s.
I’m not ready to throw the towel on Slafkowsky yet. I see his problem as being similar to Lindros’s; they’re big guys and never had to keep their heads up in juniors, so they didn’t grow up with that mentality. But I hope St. Louis can impress the need to keep mindful of his surroundings.
Top prospects
The Montreal Canadiens' prospect pool added many quality prospects, and it only looks stronger now following the 2023 Entry Draft.
Although we haven’t seen Reinbacher play in NA, the author rates him very highly.
Best value contracts for 2023-2024
A credit to Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes, here are the top five Habs contracts ahead of 2023-24:
I don’t know if the order is right, but if Suzuki is in the top 5 then Caufield should be at #6.
