  • I was thinking the same. cutting back gouging is not deflation.

  • Why does being tall make your belly more vulnerable in case of an attack?
  • I don't think its so but if I was to work assuming the hypothesis was correct the only thing I could point to is a bigger person is a bigger taget which would apply to all targets of the body.

  • Dungeons & Dragons will release its 2024 ruleset under a Creative Commons licence
  • well yeah as its on the most permissive ends of the creative commons licenses and if they were to use it they likely would user closer to the other end of the spectrum. these are companies though that are selling products but just want to allow folks to make their own derivations based around the ruleset without worrying about it and allowing folks to use the ruleset without buying it but not allow people to sell copies of their specific work.

  • What would you do if you could unconditionally duplicate yourself?
  • boy this really depends. Is it a hive mind kind of thing or are we independent? Is there a prime? Do the duplicates have a shelf life or will they live a normal life once duplicated? I mean if they were independent and lived a normal life. Like some kind of spontaneous clone where we shared memory up to the point of duplication. Well then I would never do it. It would be worse than having children. If it were like a hive mind and we could re-absorb and such. mmmm. not sure as its basically a super power at that point. would likely use it casualy or as need be. Would definately make any carrying task easier. Even then it sorta depends how the hive mind works in terms of multitasking and such.

  • Trump flattened for talking about executing Biden before gun owners
  • True which is why I am left of center globally but close enough to center to be a centerist. Im certainly more center than left. I think free markets are fine if properly regulated (something the us has not done since the 70's) and if they have competition (no monopolies or companies using infrastructure that just can't be duplicated like utilities) and if they are not to important (like education and healthcare). In the us though that puts me pretty left of center. More left than center but it would not be the case in 70's america. Pretty sad really.

  • I was actually thinking after I wrote it about how they just don't like the tyranny of democracy. Which I understand since their side does not like to regulate about pesky things like environmental damage or such. Yet someone I and most on my side, which I like to call the center, seem to want to improve within our structure of law and governance.

  • Dungeons & Dragons will release its 2024 ruleset under a Creative Commons licence
  • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Game_License

Linda Codega, for Io9 in January 2023, reported on the details from a leaked full copy of the OGL 1.1 including updated terms such as no longer authorizing use of the OGL1.0. Codega explained that while the original OGL granted a "perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license" it also included language around authorized versions of the license and "according to attorneys consulted for this article, the new language may indicate that Wizards of the Coast is rendering any future use of the original OGL void, and asserting that if anyone wants to continue to use Open Game Content of any kind, they will need to abide by the terms of the updated OGL, which is a far more restrictive agreement than the original OGL".

basically their lawyers combed through and thought they found a way around it. ORC was cleaned and and to make it clear that is not possible has this:

    b. Modifications. This ORC License may not be amended, superseded, modified, updated, repealed, revoked, or deauthorized. Neither You nor Licensor may modify the terms of this ORC License; however, You may enter into a separate agreement of Your own making provided such agreement does not seek to modify the terms hereof. This ORC License does not, and shall not be interpreted to reduce, limit, restrict, or impose conditions on any use of the Licensed Material that could lawfully be made without permission under this ORC License.

  • Propose defederation?
  • Ill say what I always say. I want users to be able to block domains (there is an option for kbin that I am on but it does nothing), urls, communities/magazines, users, basically everything. Honestly I would sorta like the system to look at your personal up and downvotes and be able to give you a personal order based on who/what has a greater rank for you as a user while choosing a time period (last hour, last day, last week, last month, last year). I want everything possible to be configurable at the user level. I would also like to have options to take people who I follows rankings to be included or sign up to block what another user blocks.

I can only get my subscriptions and not the all feed. I feel like maybe I am only getting kbin content.

Is there a way to message a user?

I have not seen an option so replying to a thread seems to be the only way that I can tell.

url link blocking. What happened to it.

So when someone submitted a url at least at one point it would show up on the right and you could block it. So if someone posted a newsweek link you could block any link postings from like newsweek.com or maybe reddit.com or google.com. Lately though I have not been able to. It seemed to disapear at some point. I have not seen it as an option in a long time.

    Reporting?

So im pretty happy with users just being able to block and control things themselves but there has been posts from this somali call girls account where I feel like the extra step of reporting is warranted.

Looking for the word or phrase that means how many barrels of oil we produce from one barrel of oil.

Question is in title. My searching is actually rather disturbing this morning as the results are fillled with industry fud and not what im looking for. What im really trying to find is a graph of oil produced historically because I recall we used to get something like a 50 barrel return but now we get single digits.

Edited - thanks for the info. kbin has an issue or at least my account does for some magazines where I can't see any replies when logged in so I can see it from a non logged in browser but can't reply so im replying in my post. EROI fits what I was looking for but if anyone finds a nice historical chart for it specifically with oil that would be great but with the EROI term I think I will be able to find it.

Search engine that defaults to open street map?

I tend to use maps from a search browser and it suddenly occurred to me that if the search engine I used defaulted to open street maps I would use it. Do any search engines default map searches to open street maps?

    View users block lists.

I sorta hate this request as it seems invasive but I was thinking about folks in the future and even myself now and I was thinking I would love to see what folks that I have subscribed to have blocked. I don't subscribe to a person unless Im really impressed by what they post or their discourse so its like a trusted list of users for me. That made me think I would love to see how they have blocked so I could look at it and see if it looks like an obvious person or place I would want to block.

Cybersecurity employee training that includes chatbots? I know, I know. I should ask this in technology or something but what im really looking for is more business related. Im looking for those duh, duh, kind of employee training but updated with the dangers of chatbots. Things like don't paste in private or confidential data, don't trust its answers are right, ask questions generally and move down to specifics, etc. etc. And yes I did ask a chatbot for the answer.
