Men Over Thirty, what's your opinion on getting the snip?
  • How does being able to have all the unprotected sex you want harm your masculinity? Toxic masculinity is weird. 😄

I got one two years ago after my son was born. Zero long term side effects. I had a more difficult recovery than most with some excessive swelling and bruising. I was on the couch for about a week, but then it all healed up just fine. There’s not even a scar. 10/10, would recommend even with my unusually long recovery. The surgery itself was also a lot shorter than I expected. There was one jolt of pain but otherwise it was pretty quick and straightforward.

My one word of caution to guys considering it is that it’s not always reversible so you need to treat it as a permanent decision.

  • Samsung is no longer the world’s biggest smartphone maker
  • And their cameras got worse. The shutter lag on my S22+ was ridiculous. I missed so many good moments with my kids because it either failed to take the picture on time or the picture it did take was a blurry mess. After using Samsung for several generations, I traded for an iPhone 15 Pro. The camera alone was worth the switch. It turns out if you spend years copying Apple then people would rather just buy the real thing once you’ve removed all the features that made you unique.

  • John Ridley Boldly Proclaims His Scrapped Marvel TV Show Was 'Eternals But Good'
  • This is the best analysis I’ve seen on this and couldn’t agree more. I also felt the same after The Last Jedi. I left the theater extremely happy that they were trying something different only to go online and see that so many people hated it. And the Star Wars fandom has only degraded from there. “Mutually dependent downward spiral” is a great way to put it.

  • PSA: Mastodon is NOT Twitter and does not aim to be.
  • I used to use Twitter a ton before the Musk takeover. Switching to Mastodon has gone really well so far. It's taken awhile to build up a follow list of people and tags that interest me, but now that I have it's a much nicer experience than Twitter ever was.

I'm just following cool people doing cool things and it's really fun to scroll through. The lack of an algorithm pushing content to my feed was jarring at first since I had to get used the lack of "infinite" scrolling... But it's been way healthier overall. I can pop in, check out what's new from people I actually follow, and then close the app and go back to more productive things. Also the people are a lot nicer.
