recently jumped ship from /r/brisbane, looking to make this my new home.
if you’re a shift worker surely you have other times available to do your shopping other than after 6pm on a Sunday? like Monday morning?
I didn’t need to read the excerpt to know where this flight was heading.
the age of the third individual was the most surprising part.
never heard them referred to as that, but then again this seems like a country term and I wouldn’t call the outer suburbs of Brisbane exactly country…
this is how youtube looks with it turned on
just hides comments on most sites/articles
so news articles, youtube, fediverse apparently lol
it was actually pretty nice to go to youtube and only see the video and the related videos column
better than what I experienced last week which was literally no comments displaying on any thread, whether I was logged in or not
figured it was a bug, came back days later and still nothing.
… realised I had forgotten I turned on the “Block comments where they aren’t the primary focus” option on in 1Blocker which synced across my devices.
drove from Philly to Boston with a stop in NYC and it honestly wasn’t that bad
with that being said I would never dream of driving from Brisbane to Canberra again. next time I want to see snow I am flying down — the return trip was the worst.
I know they’re totally different distances but even to Sydney is a stretch for me these days.
don’t even get me started with driving north of Brisbane…
I don’t think you interpreted the second part how they meant it…
thank you, and the 2FA set up was actually the easiest i’ve ever set up on iOS. a little too easy …
i’ll be damned if I’m removing my identity just to protect my account
please do
I call it chermy 🫣
100% agree, and I hope as working from home becomes more popular/more of a standard, I will be much less dependent on my car.
obviously this can’t be the case for everyone but i’d be happy not driving 2 hours a day for work, let alone 3-4 hours on public transport.
I think until there’s better public transport to other areas of SEQ (and further even), we are going to always have a need for vehicles.
I would love to be able to catch a train to the heart of Caloundra, but for now the most efficient way for me to travel is to drive everywhere.
how do I give gold to this comment? wait…
but seriously, I genuinely laughed pretty hard haha
bold and underline, really sell it; “no way did I type this, look at this formatting!”
I got the notification ☺️
EXIF data, not meta data… Stupid bagel.
Any chances anybody saw what happened here?
By the time I noticed (only because she was crying so loud I could hear it over my podcast as I drove past), I did a loop back around the block to see if she was OK and the staff at the mitsubishi car yard were out with her, had moved her car and were consoling her.
Basically I was hoping to find out if whoever hit her did a runner or not? The poor thing was so upset.
Location: Corner of Milton Rd and Frederick Street, at the roundabout next to Toowong Cemetery
edit: removed photo, the driver actually posted on /r/brisbane
how many of you have genuinely ditched reddit?
due to the rolling blackout... I think it's had its effect.
I think I am done with reddit.
it's a shame because as someone who doesn't use Facebook it was nice to have a sense of local community I otherwise don't get online.
I still think besides the few odd regulars who brought the vibe down every chance they could, it was a genuinely great subreddit.
anyway, I'm just curious how many of you are well and truly done with reddit? not even going back for a peak?
