XeroLinux. It's a nice, convenient Arch-based one with a good installer and helper app. Makes getting into Arch feel a lot more newbie-friendly. I disable the latte docker and crazier desktop effects though, I like mine more plain and fast.
The Fediverse is still relatively "new" (in the sense that it really started gaining traction a few years ago) and the type of people you mentioned are just the first to know about it.
If we get enough support and the big problem social networks crack we'll probably get a more diverse crowd later on. I doubt the Fediverse will become mainstream but it's definitely more known now and becoming more popular.
Being able to easily and freely upgrade, experiment, and reinstall is one of the big perks of Linux. Carry on.
Yeah, if Reddit keeps going the way it is I'm not expecting it to be a very usable site in the future so I just jumped ship early.
If Reddit backpedals enough and the whole thing blows over I might go back but that doesn't seem to be what's going down. Lemmy is a pretty good replacement for my needs and the smaller community is a plus.
"Lemmies" are small creatures with green hair that are well known for mining, diving into rivers, building staircases and in extreme scenarios exploding.
