Welcome to BAPC Sales Canada

This is just a community meant for migrators of Reddit to come on over. I have no idea how to mod and get things going, but it would be cool if someone with some knowledge could set up an RSS-Feed or something to get some automated deals posted!

This is a beautiful thing to see!

I hope I see more and more subreddits go dark indefinitely!

What VPN should I use now that Mullvad doesn't allow portforwarding?
  • Nah, they're shutting off port-forwarding because there were probably a bunch of users abusing the service and using it to distribute CSAM, and they got tired of having law enforcement at their door. Port-forwarding itself isn't inherently bad, but when it's used for that purpose it is.

  • r/gaming public again for community input
  • I agree with @[email protected], it needs to be indefinite for Reddit to actually feel pain. 48 hours does nothing. We all know no matter what Reddit won't change the API pricing, so to make it actually effective, it should be indefinite AT LEAST until Reddit goes public. That's where they will truly feel the pain

  • X11 vs Wayland
  • Little late to the party, but I'll chime in. I have a 3080, and for the most part, Wayland works, but there are a few problems that keep me from using it as a daily driver. G-Sync doesn't work at all, and when I put my PC to sleep, upon wake I end up needing to do a full reboot because of severe graphical issues. When it is running though, it's pretty smooth, with only a few graphical issues here and there. I still daily drive X11 though until the major bugs are fixed.

  • Privacy Focused iOS Call Recording?

I’m wondering if anyone knows of a way, or an app, that allows me to record calls. In my country, it is legal to record calls with single party consent (ie, only I have to consent). My job requires me to make phone calls, and it is important that what is said in the call can be verified at a later date if it is ever challenged.

    Any help is appreciated :)

Which Tiling Window Managers do you like, and why?
  • When I was using it, I LOVED Hyprland. It was my most flawless experience with Wayland on an Nvidia GPU. I switched off of it however, because I primarily game on my PC and a lot of games just didn't work and I did not want to have to figure out how to get them working all the time.

  • Reddit protesters: How are you spending the blackout?
  • Honestly, just taking a break from social media all together. Reddit was my main source of "media" for the past 7 years. I joined Lemmy to hopefully be a replacement. But it's nice to just have a cleansing every once in a while :)

  • for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
  • Yes I am a little sad. I just deleted my account(s) this morning. 7 years on Reddit, and it was my go-to platform. But it is clear that Reddit does not care about its users, so I won't be using Reddit anymore

  • High Prices Make Textbook ‘Piracy’ Acceptable to Most Students
  • First year is when they nab you. My first year I had ONE textbook cost over $200 by itself. I probably spend over $1000 my first year on textbooks. 2nd year I refused to buy a single one, and pirated them all
