It's almost impossible to deny being an alcoholic without sounding like an alcoholic
  • I'm in a similar situation with a bipolar diagnosis. I was diagnosed after speaking with a sketchy psychologist for 20 minutes at best. Apparently thinking you don't have bipolar disorder is a symptom of bipolar disorder.

Even after working with two other psychologists for well over a year and both diagnosing me with PTSD and that diagnosis perfectly matching my experience, not a single doctor will put that on my medical record. They won't refer me to appropriate treatment. They won't change my medication and tell me it works instead of asking.

I've been trying to get this fixed since 2008, but I just get shut down immediately after bringing it up. I'm barely getting by due to very poor mental health and everything just keeps getting worse.

  • Lemmings that have won cash/prizes on a game show. What was your experience?
  • I won $900 playing deal or no deal at a bar. Maybe it was just luck, but I did feel I could read the host who claimed not to know the outcome of any given deal. Watching him before my ticket was drawn to play, I notice he seemed to lead people to their decisions a bit. It also occurred to me a few times while playing that he was at least occasionally leading me into correct choices.

Anyhow, the last deal comes up and I make up my mind on if I will take the deal or not. Then I figure I'll let my friend choose. Her decision was opposite mine. It was the only wrong deal in the game.

Afterward a bunch of people in the bar bought us drinks. I split the winnings equally with my two friends. We agreed to do so when they bought me a raffle ticket to play because I don't gamble.

  • No, not convincing at all. That's why they go after children with this bs at the youngest age possible. It was fucking terrifying when I was around 11 or so and started accepting that I didn't believe anything they told me at church.

  • What is the craziest thing that's ever happened in your life?
  • It is real for sure. I'm a cis male with what is generally considered a woman's name. At work, it is crazy how differently people treat me when they only know me through chat or email vs in person or on the phone. It gets really interesting meeting some people for the first time after communicating only via text for a while. So much changes right at that moment.

  • Born and raised in Arizona, pretty much any place I can hang out with constant rain is considered a Cozy place for me.
  • Long time resident of a place with constant rain here and I certainly agree. Given we all produce heat, you can easily choose your own perfect temperature in cooler weather with just clothing, blankets, food, snuggling, etc. Occasional sunny days are great for sure, but you literally need a machine to find relief in uncomfortable heat.

  • Wouldn't people who claim glutamate (MSG) allergies immediately die, since it's also a neurotransmitter?
  • Glad I am not allergic. I keep a small jar in the kitchen and it is easily the most interesting seasoning to experiment with.

Meanwhile, my sister claims to be severely allergic. It's crazy given the number of items in her regular diet containing MSG if you read the label. Sadly, she is full of excuses like this she uses to rationalize an insanely high fat diet and is obese.
