I'd argue it wasn't forgotten in the prequels. Most of the characters and plot revolves around and is supported by very large well funded organizations (Republic, Trade Federation, ect) which means the clothing and equipment they have is less likely to be worn down. The same can be seen in the original trilogy with the Empire, storm troopers and imperial ships are well polished and not "used".
Except that's not what's happening. They aren't increasing their FTE headcount, just screwing over their contractors to save a quick buck. Nothing to celebrate here except corporate greed.
Something tells me you either haven't played or haven't played in the last few builds.. The game is playable today, it's got a long ways to go before it's finished but it's very playable and very fun.
100% agreed. Nobody could be blamed for not wanting to relocate for a job and it's honestly kinda ridiculous in this day and age that they're requiring them to. Remote work works!
Well this certainly makes them more bearable at least.
No kidding! Way more confidence than I'd ever be able to muster.
Saw this while I was in a meeting, working from home is great!
Seems perfectly fine to me. Would need more angles to tell for sure though 🤔
It is a shame we have to just drop such a monumental piece of history into the ocean. I wouldn't hold out hope we can move up that much mass to a high enough orbit to preserve it though sadly.
A beautiful example of how teaching someone new knowledge helps everyone!
I'm late to the conversation here but this exactly my sentiment as well. We're still years from seeing any of the things they showed us actually hit servers that we can play on and experience and then years from them being refined enough to not be a buggy mess that requires wipes every couple patches.
I'm vaguely hopeful that the SQ42 announcement will at least mean a few more resources dedicated to developing for the persistent universe as that's the gameplay I am more interested in but I am also not holding my breath. Feature complete is a pretty vague state for a studio like CI and without a set in stone release date, it doesn't mean much of anything.
Absolutely stunning, definitely nailed the look!
Elon does seem to be able to speak at least on some level about rocket design. His statements and very public beefs with his own engineers at Twitter however demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of coding for large scale infrastructure like Twitter.
The issue really shouldn't be about the porn aspect of it, it's the fact that voice actors are basically having their likeness used without their consent, which for an average person is creepy and not cool but for them that likeness is also their means of income. AI is an awesome tool, but using it to mimic specific people without their consent is not okay.
That stops being valid when they start distributing said mods to other people though. That's just stealing the likeness from people who rely on said likenesses for their income which is pretty scummy and not okay. I don't know what the right way to approach this is, but replicating voice actor's voices without their consent isn't it.
And to make matters worse Reddit has chased off or straight up removed a good chunk of the moderators who would have helped keep the bots at bay. Now it's an astroturfing playground out there with nobody to stop them.
I'm confused on how this is legal? Isn't Linux based on a license that prevents them from doing that? I was under the understanding that was how CentOS came into being in the first place.
I'm going to be in the same shoes soon. I just bought a switch finally and started my play through of the remaster of the first one and they really hit it out of the park with it. I hope they follow up with the other two soon.
