In his last two albums before his passing, Quorthon masterfully demonstrated that true art can even embrace some vocal imperfections as long as they contribute to an authentic organic experience.

The real Батюшка - both albums - I couldn't be happier [Atmospheric Black Metal]
  • Indeed, the only good Batushka albums. Absolute masterpieces, though.

  • A melancholic ballad from Bavaria with a subtle touch of Gothicity. Empyrium - A Wintersunset... (Symphonic Folk/Gothic Metal, 1996, Germany)

A very experimental and unusual album from Norway. Enslaved - Mardraum, Beyond the Within (Progressive/Viking Metal, 2000, Norway)
  • I found it actually quite the opposite. The progressive elements towards the end were the quite refreshing part imo.

Do you belive Black Metal is only made by elitists for other elitists? Then Troll is the perfect counterargument for this disbelief, because they obviously do not take it super serious ;)

To celebrate the ending of this ridiculously hot summer and to welcome the upcoming comfortably mild tempered melancholy of autumn, here are two Black Metal classics from Nargaroth.
  • On Jahreszeiten he acknowledges his two psychiatrists who guided him 5 years through his mental crysis. Coincidentally, the concept of this album was made during these 5 years. Some masterpieces just require a mad mind.

Bataille - Reverb (Atmospheric Black Metal / Dungeon Synth)
  • Beyer Dynamics DT770, DT880, DT990 or the Pro versions are very nice quality. They have very native sound profiles, meaning you will experience the media as they were intended by the producer. They don't have boosted base, however, you won't need that HipHop shit feature for Black Metal anyways ;)

  • Bataille - Reverb (Atmospheric Black Metal / Dungeon Synth)
  • I would strongly advise against playing vinyls with Bluetooth speakers, as this defeats their purpose as a HiFi medium.

You won't really hear a difference to heavily compressed Spotify media.

If you really want to enjoy the quality of vinyls, invest at least in an entry-level turntable for 150€/$ and an entry-level HiFi stereo system with a Class AB amplifier and 50-100 watt, 4-ohm speakers for 300€/$ upwards. Theoretically there are barely any limits, but above 1000€/$ the return is pretty much diminishing.

  • Let's start this insanely hot week with another unholy classic, ideal for sacrificing all our souls to Satan so that he in return freezes hell over and thus hopefully cools down this doomed planet.

    Summer patch huge changes!
  • The Enchanted Archipelago works just fine again.

  • Summer patch huge changes!
  • Ok, will try to finish this soon and report back if it still crashes for the second realm too.

  • Summer patch huge changes!
  • When I try to start the Rise of the Godir Valley of Wonders map it crashes immediately when I run it in the Beta version. Once I switch back to non-Beta it starts normally. Strangely it does not crash when I run a random custom map.

  • Favorite Race Transformations
  • I also like the the new Draconian transformation, however I am not sure yet whether I prefer it over the Demonkin. I really like that Demonkin makes your units fly, which gives you a huge advantage on the map and in battles but I hate the rest of the tome and I love dragons, that come in the tome of the Draconian Transformation.

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • Awesome!

I am looking forward to see more.
