Russia is flooding Germany with more disinformation than ever, helping pro-Kremlin narratives increasingly seep into the country's politics, experts warn
  • Also let's not forget the media who keep talking about immigration and invite Afd and BSW people non-stop. That makes it look like migration is by far the worst problem ever and for some reason all parties try to mimic the Afd policies on this to some degree.

  • Eric Schmidt: Build more AI datacenters, we aren't going to 'hit climate goals anyway'
  • It's worse. Rather imagine:

    • Driving down a road that gets a little hotter every meter
    • Suggesting to speed up, because it's not a comfortable temperature anymore, but already a bit hot, so we might as well get lethal temperatures quicker instead of stopping as long as it is still survivable

Remember: climate change is no wall, it's gradual. Stopping at any point is better than at any later point.

  • When I last tried to let some AI write actual code, it didn't even compile 🙂 And another time when it actually compiled it was trash anyway and I had to spend as much time fixing it, as I would have spent writing it myself in the first place.

So far I can only use AI as a glorified search engine 😅

  • That is the thing: Mitigating climate change does not have a boolean result (we mitigated it or not), it is a scale, without a relevant upper limit. So, if you think "fuck this, we can't stay even within 3 degrees warming, so it doesn't matter what we do from here" you are wrong. Even if that is the case, at least try to mitigate 4 degrees and so on. Basically there is a difference between "we are fucked", "we are super-fucked", "we are mega-fucked" and so on! Getting complacent is not an option here!
