"Concord servers are now offline. Thank you to all the freegunners who have joined us in the Concord galaxy"
  • I was a sucker and my friend convinced me to get and pay for the orginal game. I think it was only like 3-4 weeks after the game was available when they shoehorned battle royal mode in. It wasn't long after that before they switched to free to play and gave us I think in game currency that was worth the $60 or whatever the game costed at launch. I stopped playing altogether because I paid for a co-op PvE tower defense game, not a free to play PvP battle royal game.

  • Do you prefer the headphone jack to be at the top or at the bottom on a phone, and why?
  • Apple removed it so they can sell you a $40+ adapter or $100+ earbuds. Google in response made ads for their pixel line mocking that they still have a headphone jack and apple doesn't have one, then the next version of the pixel released without a headphone jack either. Once those 2 stopped putting them in, most other phone manufacturers followed within the next 2-3 years.

What they did absolutely worked though. Over the years I now have 3 sets of wireless earbuds, Jaybird Vista (~$160 at purchase) Jaybird Vista 2 (~$180 at purchase), and Sony WF-1000XM5 (~$300 at purchase), and 5 either usb-c to 3.5mm jack or usb-c to split a type c/3.5mm headphone jack ranging from $10-$50. Of the 5 cords only a single one of the splitter and a single one of the adapters provide audio that doesn't have a constant electrical hum or making the audio sound like a tin can. The Bluetooth earbuds aren't all that impressive sound quality wise to the point that I think a decent pair of $40-60 wired headphones would be on pair with them and they are so inconsistent. They are constantly connecting to the wrong device, random disconnects, random desynchronization between the 2 sides, battery life being like half of what they say it will be, one side dying while the other side has 20% left, you have to have the charging case with you in order to restart them sometimes when they just refuse to connect to anything. All these annoyances added to save $5 on a decent DAC and jack that anyone could plug into with a standardized plug to make sure you and I are pushed to but these earbuds nobody was really adopting until they manufactured this issue and the adapters that literally didn't have to exist until this that you have to take a gamble in when buying if they are actually using a good internal DAC or of you're going to be listing to a tin can.

  • The internet went a bit mad when this went up
  • Belle Delphine, she got famous I think on Reddit originally for selling used bathwater to people and slowly progressed her way into making an Only Fans. This was the first explicit thing she had put out.

  • I installed Windows 10 in a virtual machine...man, this is straight up dystopian.
  • There are unfortunately still too many games that my friends and I play that won't work on Linux. In my own situation, I'd be alienating myself from my friends from switching over even though I really want to. Not to mention I built my PC with a Nvida card which all I hear is that it either works perfectly for you, or you better buy an AMD card so there are still some valid reasons for people not to switch. Once windows 11 is forced upon me is when I'll cut my losses though. Glad to hear that it's a good enough experience for you though!

  • Gen Z is bringing back landline phones because they think they look ‘cool’: ‘I love to twirl the cord’
  • For the most part, I believe in the US at least, that land lines are all VOIP but still referred to land lines because they are hardwired at a set location. Similar to how the internet was on dial up, DSL and fiber but it's all called the Internet.

  • School
  • When I was in school, that was just the first song they'd teach us on the recorder so I assume it's meant to be the teacher pushing on with the lesson instead of listening to the student.

  • Bernie Sanders Calls for ‘NO MORE’ U.S. Funding For Netanyahu’s ‘Illegal, Immoral, Brutal, and Grossly Disproportionate War’ in Gaza
  • Because we only have 2 parties in the US that currently have any chance to make office at that stage and Democrats are more in line with his view than Republicans. Many people from both sides really shouldn't be in either party but since there are only 2 parties, everyone picks the side that most aligns with their ideas because it's easier to get support for how they think the country should operate.

  • Times have changed
  • Until Vine and later tiktok, basically the whole Internet was in the horizontal format and vertical videos would play with huge black boxes on the left and right and in turn you can't really make out the details of the videos as well because they were so small on those screens. Today's internet is very different and has things actually designed for vertical videos so complaining about it makes no sense anymore.

  • Prepare Yourselves
  • From my experience, the problem isn't the question itself but how and why it's being asked. I've seen it used as a way of measuring one's success because they believe everyone should want and have a family to be successful in life and if you don't want or have that, you are treated differently and sometimes even as an outright failure to them.
