Phish-Friendly Domain Registry “.top” Put on Notice.
  • The Chinese company in charge of handing out domain names ending in “.top” has been given until mid-August 2024 to show that it has put in place systems for managing phishing reports and suspending abusive domains, or else forfeit its license to sell domains.

Seems like the problem is China, not really. top domains.

  • Steam Automation Games Sale July 15–22 2024
  • I didn't even know this sale was happening, but it coincides perfectly with me playing Dyson Sphere Program for the first time.

As a 2000 hour Factorio player, I gotta say it feels like I am playing nearly the same exact game but in 3D.

There are some better aspects: DSP's belt placement is far easier on my wrists, liquids are transported on belts so you don't have to worry about the black magic that is fluid dynamics in pipes, vertical building possibilities (literally) add a new dimension to your blueprint designs.

And some worse aspects: no logistics circuit system which means your amount of fine control and ability to create complex systems is pretty much non-existent, NO FRICKIN LAMPS? SHIT GETS DARK HELLOOOOOO?, and fewer mods.

  • Was this community banned on lemmy.world? I was trying to access some bookmarked posts and comments but they weren't there.
  • They are both bad for different reasons.

Kbin has uncontrolled spam because the administrator, Ernest, likes to go AWOL for months on end and wants to do everything completely by himself. Currently, Kbin.social has been unreachable for 4-5 days - whether that's because something legitimately broke or Ernest pulled the plug on things we don't know because he actually hates communicating with people. He could gain so much more goodwill from the community if he just left a one sentence post saying "I am still alive, I am still updating things, be patient."

Lemmy World sucks because the admins suck, the moderators suck, and the majority of the userbase don't seem to be interested in creating quality content. Most of the people there are only there because their Reddit app doesn't work anymore.
