Feels more black than death, but that's cool.
I think the thrill and pleasure was what they were after. The subreddit was just for sharing and encouraging eachother. But yea, really dangerous fantasy to act on.
There was one where women shared stories of them getting raped, because they found this to be arousing. Most of the time, they were intentionally putting themselves in situations where they expected the risks of getting raped to be higher.
Examples:
- Going to the bar showing a lot of skin, flirting, and drinking too much, or pretending to be drunk.
- Going to a man's home, and pretending to fall asleep, with a skirt.
- Showing off her naked body next to a busy highway.
I think they even had insider jargon.
Can't find it anymore, maybe it was closed. It's been a long while I've even went on Reddit at all.
What was the first one about?
Judging from the screenshots, it seems to be completely non-sexualized. You could hardly get aroused by looking at the woman's body there.
I started seeing them in my neighborhood. What's going on?
Would you like to expand on resource extraction? This is of particular interest to me.
What I would change in my case:
- Engage with people, even if it's awkward or you have something more fun and that takes less effort right now
- Get a basic understanding of personal finance (read a book or two)
- Don't be content with the bare minimum. You'll spend a lot of time working. Try to get as much as possible for yourself for every hour working.
But I think each person's realities will vary a lot. For example, regarding the first bullet point, maybe you're extraverted and already a social butterfly, in which case the advice doesn't apply.
Depends what.
Customer-facing work: you can stay open longer.
Office work: yeah, since productivity plummets, I don't think it helps much, if at all.
Just heard that song (and band) for the first time, and it's great!
If you get a new customer, you may get one for several years without adding any new effort.
Wow, that's wild.
Are you saying you've seen stalls that did not have walls or doors?
Interesting.
Here in Québec, most towns and villages either have a native name, or saint's name.
So they'll show family photos while playing "We shall destroy"?
That would just be weird.
You're just... into heavy metal. And that's fine. And I'm surprised you can't discuss of those bands with fellow metalheads. In my experience, they're often liked and held in great reverence.
A subgenre falling outside of metal doesn't mean that it sucks. Everyone is right in what they like.
Yea. "Female" and "male" don't sound weird to me in themselves. I don't see then as in a different category of words than "women" or "boys". But using it in an inconsistent way would be weird to me as well. If in a class, the girls, or women, are in the same age as the boys, or men, then it should be either "girls and boys", or "women and men". Or "females and males". But "females and boys" is just inconsistent.
Doesn't that encourage urban sprawl?
Once, as a teenager, I switched channels on the TV, and there was a movie. A caption appeared on screen: "Rhode Island".
"Nice!" I thought. "I always like movies set in cultures that are very foreign to mine."
As the movie went on, I was increasingly confused, as those Greeks, or Turks, seemed very similar to US Americans, and the setting appeared to be the USA. (It was dubbed in French, so I couldn't tell from the language)
I soon figured that it must be a location in the USA named after an Old World location.

How to find more of this black metal with dungeon synth melodies?
Hey,
I'm generally more into melodeath, power metal, folk metal, and epic heavy metal. I sometimes listen to black metal, but I'm not a big fan of it. Unless it's blackened something (death, folk...)
But some black metal songs are something else for me.
Keys to the Astral Gates and Mystic Doors
This one has absolutely beautiful dungeon synth over the raw black metal, and I love it.
Listen to "Her Body Broken in the Bloody Snow".
This one also has excellent dungeon synth, together with black metal. Very good songs, their only flaw, which pisses me to no end, is the unnecessary effect on the vocals.
Now that I'm typing it out, I guess that what I'm looking for are bands that put emphasis on dungeon synth, but are still metal? But how do I look for more? Is there even a genre that I can search to find more of that?
I don't know subgenres of BM well (sorry, I'm definitely not trve kvlt enough), I tried:
- Raw BM: this sounds to be typical raw production second wave like Mayhem
- Melodic BM: seems like pure melodic BM (without death, or punk, etc.) hardly exist. Found good bands, but not what I'm looking for
- USBM: generally not what I'm looking for
- Lofi BM: might be the best match? Found Nihilitic Depths - Beneath Forgotten Ruins which is quite similar, but bands described lofi BM don't always correspond
Any help is welcome. Suggestions of bands or albums welcome too. After all, there might not be a name for that.
Thanks
