With Reddit becoming public, why are the founders creating so much drama around the site? Wouldn't that make their IPO worse?
  • Tl;Dr: the stock will still likely hold for a couple weeks as investors and the market adjusts to the stupidity spez is. Once this happens spez will be removed/step down as he is gonna make moreoney than he can jerk off to.

Stocks and the market is wierd, but let's take the DoorDash IPO as an example. Before they went public, they get an estimate of the opening price. It was sitting at a little over $250 per share pre-ipo. Post-ipo, the stock plummets and continued to fall until it's where it's at today($70).

It did IPO at 160ish(still $100 less than expected. Then it jumped up to like $230 eventually all for it to drop again.

Why is this important? They were not and are still not profitable as a business. They have a TON of cash flow, but no profitablity. Uber has the same issue.

Reddit, although not profitable, may stillake a splash early IPO, but once the market realizes they have lost a significant user base and ad revenue to boot, it will inevitably fall.

Bad part is the little fucker spez is gonna make out like a bandit and then pass the CEO title to some poor fool that thinks they can fix it. So far the only time that has worked is like Chewy and GameStop.

  • Streamer finds true hell as his 173-hour Diablo 4 hardcore character gets wiped by 'the most unfair bug' in the game | Died to loading screen
  • Tl;DR:

Diablo player Quin69, was less than 20 levels away from soloing to level 100 when his game hung on a load screen causing his character to die from "environmental causes".

Theory is that it was a nightmare dungeon with a lightning damage effect constant. As he teleported, the lightening continues to damage him even though he is stuck loading. Tragic end to a 73 hour run. He also beat the shit out mannequin and a microwave, both apparently undeserving of the punishment.

  • Who killed you the first time?
  • Astaroth was also my first death, or series of deaths lol.

Using Necro I put a lot of upgrades on hold and just mobbed through. So I didn't really have to change my build, just actually had to improve my gear and things.

  • Your opinion on Diablo 4 right now
  • So far it has been great. If you ignore all the angry folks about micros, the game itself is actually golden.

Compared to the mass majority of games that have released, this one has hands down been the smoothest so far.

In early access, I was able to finish the campaign with little issues. The most I ran into was on launch day where there was like a 20m queue.

The micros are non-intrusive, even though they are very highly overpriced($20 is not worth a set of cosmetic gear and some emojis). The gear in-game is super sick anyway, so really no need to buy anything extra. You can also get premium content from Whispering tree drops which I don't think any other game out right now really allows for that.

Lastly, the end game content can definitely use some work. It's fun, I have 2 maxed characters already, but it feels a bit empty. I think bringing rifts back would be awesome. I think being able to change the world tier before doing the capstone dungeons would also be awesome. Sucks getting gear 10 lvls below you in T3.

End of my tedtalks, hope this was what you were looking for :)

  • So this morning I overwrote 11 years of comments on Reddit with this message:
  • The mods thing is definitely what drove me to delete.

Did a little scroll through, just to see. The content is getting bad quick, the comments are worse.

Fediverse content has been solid so far. Definitely a healthy mix of communities and although it's like typing on a keyboard for the first time, it's already gotten way better.

Also sent a message to spez, cuz what's he gonna do? Ban me?

  • The Golden Knights win first Stanley Cup in Franchise History
  • First Captain to get a hatty in a finals game that decided the outcome of the series since 1922(Stone)

First undrafted Conn Smyth winner since Wayne Gretzky(Jonathan Marchessault)

Great series for the Knight. Way shut it down for the home crowd.
