It's frustrating when so often techy people produce something but don't go the slight extra distance to anticipate the needs of normal people getting inducted into using the software. You see it all the time.
Contrary to what is often claimed Linux may in fact be better for people with realtively simple needs. I basically use Linux to run a browser and Steam and don't run into many problems on a day to day basis.
In New Zealand cookie usually means either home baked or home baked style biscuits / cookies (e.g. chocolate chip cookies). Biscuit usually means all other types generally bought at the shop (e.g. chocolate coated etc.). I genuinely suspect the Cookie Monster influenced this distinction.
How well does the search for communities work. Struggling to find a community that I know exists. Is it because this server doesn't know about it. Am I right in assuming that I can't use my credentials for lemmy.world won't work if I log in directly to that community?
