My fourth shirt
I like unusual shirts and recently took it upon myself and my wife's sewing machine to start making my own shirts.
I ran into this rayon challis in the fabric store and decided I should have a tropical shirt of it. Converting my pattern for to accommodate what I've heard about rayon challis involved turning the side seams and arm seams into french seams (after adding to the seam allowance on the pattern).
Surprisingly, it fits perfectly. It's not perfect by any means, but it's the first shirt of this fabric type that I've ever owned.
How long until Reddit gets evicted from their office?
I like my chemex, but the coffee it produces is very different from my aeropress.
Not saying you shouldn't go that route, just be aware
I know someone who is experiencing this as well. I don't have an answer, but this may be an issue that affects multiple users
Lemmy has public mod logs if you're ever curious
Chat GPT can legitimately assist you here.
I'm not saying that it's going to be 100% perfect, but I am saying that you can ask it to explain things in plain language and it generally does okay
I'm considering throwing a pi4 at Lemmy. How's it going for you? Can you tell me about specific struggles you've had?
You certainly could! One of the reasons I made this variant is my mother's rather severe dietary restrictions, and I can't use milk products for her, so I use coconut cream. It tastes amazing. Though when I did it last, I didn't fry the tofu first. Hence that step in this one.
I've been using mine since 2021, and despite the jokes my friends make, no one can actually tell the difference in my hair cut. It does help to have someone that can trim your neck line and ears though
This one is modified from the Murgh Ka Korma recipe in The Indian Cooking Course by Monisha Bharadwaj
I strongly recommend it for Indian recipes.
Ingredients:
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 fresh green Chile, chopped
- 1/4 c unsalted cashews
- 2 tsp garlic ginger paste (2 parts garlic: 1 part ginger)
- 1.5 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp (+some more to finish) garam masala (make your own to really make it pop)
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 lb frozen mixed vegetables
- 2 tbsp cream (or more. Treat yo self.)
- salt
-
Begin by frying the tofu. I recommend a good non stick pan to reduce how much oil you add. Really get a good texture on most of the faces of the cubes.
-
Put the onion, Chile, and cashews in a pan with some water. Not too much, don't be afraid to add a dash as it cooks as needed. You can add more, but you can't take it out. Cook for 10 minutes until the onion very soft, then move it to a food processor with enough water for the food processor to work it all into a smooth textured paste/liquid. Set aside for later steps.
-
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan on high heat. Add garlic ginger paste, followed by tofu. Stir to integrate.
-
Stir in salt and the ground spices. Mix to integrate. Add the cashew onion paste, and use a bit of water to get everything out of the food processor. Cook for about 10 minutes. The primary goal here is to thaw and adequately heat the frozen vegetables.
-
Stir in cream, adjust seasoning to taste (primarily salt most likely) and optionally add a sprinkle of garam masala. Serve with rice, roti, or paratha
I hope you enjoy it!
A little bit yes, a little bit no
Tab delimited csv are sometimes called tsv, but just as often you'll see csv (tab delimited) as a file type option
See the wiki section on standardization for details.
Csv currently includes the following delimiters:
Comma, space, tab, pipe, or semicolon
Thanks! I've tried doing this once before, but this is easily the best I've tried yet.
The biggest difference has been giving the tofu a hard fry before adding it. With chicken, that's not a necessary step, but tofu falls apart without it
The best thing you can do is test this for yourself.
Steep a plain coffee filter in water, taste it, and determine your findings from there. Repeat with each filter candidate

Tofu Korma
We felt like eating vegetarian tonight, so I modified a chicken korma recipe for tofu.
Pretty happy with how it turned out
Csv is not always comma delimited. It could also be delimited with a tab, semicolon, or pipe (|)
I understand that this is an old post, but it's also the only one of its kind that I've found
How difficult was it to set up a rpi instance? I'm considering setting one up for myself and a few close friends to aid reducing the load on the big instances. Based on your experiences, how viable is that concept?
Let's count our blessings that 55 million people haven't tried to join this platform at once.
It would have a lot of severely negative effects:
- Bringing over the hive mind
- Bringing over the influencers and thirst traps
- Crippling all or most of the current instances
- Etc
Given the nature of this platform, you can generally expect slightly more technical people on average or at least people who are not afraid of trying new technologies. The average person will not want to deal with learning how instances work or how federation works. Hell, I was chatting with a good friend who is a senior programmer and he doesn't want to deal with these things.
I've done my part
If my interest in this platform continues, I'll be making it a monthly thing.
I think the admins here are doing great, and they deserve the support from me given how much I'm using it lately
Those shows literally drove me to a career in software development.
I'll never forget Leo telling a young kid about my age about a new programming language called Python. I like to think he shaped a fair number of future careers with that one call
The simplest solution often gets the job done just fine. This is a simple solution that can be easily reversed and looks as good as something under a trash can can.
Excellent work.
I don't know if you've ever tried the official app, but that strategy wouldn't even help most likely. Every 3-5 posts that you see from your subscribed subs, they throw in a "recommended for you" nonsense post to try and drive your engagement. It's infuriating
Trouble with Jerboa login?
I was able to use Jerboa all of yesterday and most of this morning, but as of an hour ago, I'm receiving "Incorrect login" messaging when I attempt to log in from Jerboa. I've checked my login on PC, and it is correct.
I'm thinking this must be something related to the server upgrades and huge traffic increase
