Live Event Threads - Need Three Small Platform Changes to Knock Them Out of the Park
Hi all,
As best I can tell, we over at m/MMA have #1, #2, and #3 most commented threads ever on kbin and had a couple go over 400 comments.
We have a blast during our live event threads, and we're having another tomorrow starting at 7 ET. We comment live during the fights! So if you're curious about the sport or would like to learn, come on over and say hi! We have a blast and it's very interactive!
But that's not why I'm here today.
We have noticed some limitations in our live threads and wanted to see if we could get these three simple changes made and believe it would not only help us but the platform in general:

We need the ability for mods to be able to sticky comments to the top of threads, regardless of sort.

The ability for mods to "set suggested sort" like on Reddit, so that when someone rolls in the thread, they're automatically seeing the newest comments by default and not having to reclick it over and over and over again. This makes the threads more interactive and fun.
3. The comment box is at the bottom but the new comments are at the top when you sort by new. What ends up happening is you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to post a new comment, then all the way back up to see the new comments. This gets annoying even at 400 comments, and I can't imagine how much worse it would get once we really start getting huge engagement. We even had a user who commented under another user, who couldn't even find the top level comment box last event because scrolling to the bottom wasn't what they expected.
I feel like these small changes would help so much. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Suggested Settings to Make Kbin Look and Feel More Like Reddit
Hi all,
After signing up, (click login, then register), below are some settings to make kbin look and feel more like Reddit.
You navigate to the gear icon in the upper corner as shown here.
And then it opens up a new group of settings.
Here are some settings that look to be a mix between old and new reddit that users may enjoy.
Toward the top with the red smudges beside them, you can change the font size as well as the color and layout.

We are not going to be allowing spam, but we are going to be relaxing our posting rules over here on kbin.
\-We will allow the submissions of other sports like Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and other related combat sports.
\-We will have less stringent titling rules
\-The good memes can stay for now.
\-As well as relaxing some other rules not mentioned here at mod discretion.

\-Posts still need to be related to organized, sanctioned sporting events and organizations. No random training videos or discussion that is not about mixed martial arts at-large
