Too much US election content on Lemmy?
  • I come in here specifically to catch up on US election coverage. It's better than other news feeds I have. I totally understand why it's annoying but I also appreciate it for myself. People seem to be more real in the comments compared to other communities. The articles at the top aren't what I find elsewhere. Sorry you have to work so hard to curate your experience though.

  • Someone needs to make this
  • As food supply dwindles you're forced to cook with more and more spoiled ingredients. Leading to sickness and hallucinations on top of the strange supernatural influence. Sleep won't come any more. Whatever is on the ship makes it impossible to rest. Vision is blurry and hearing is off. Which voices are real, which are the ghosts, which are purely your own? The wind has stopped and the ship hasn't moved is a week as the waves rock. People who you thought had jumped overboard are back making requests for dishes from their childhood. Spices you don't remember stocking and couldn't possibly be on board turn up in unexpected places. This looks like saffron. Does saffron taste like that all the time or is this something else entirely?

  • Okay, Biden isn’t popular. But his policies sure are.
  • Thank you for writing that so I don't have to.

The end of the petrodollar is complicated. On the one hand it reenforced American hegemony and propped up US financial institutions and instruments. On the otherhand it was quite unfair and sometimes unpopular even among US allies.

The end of it means US finance will have to work harder to stay competitive and the US has to trade currency on (slightly) more equal footing but it might lower international resentment.

  • TW : The most vicious crime
  • The answer is people like to hate those they don't understand. People hate based on skin color, body fat, sexual orientation, and all sorts of differences. Now it seems like hating those cursed with psychological disorders around sexual attraction and children is in vogue. In twenty years it will be a new group.

  • TW : The most vicious crime
  • Being sexually attracted to children is rape? Not in my world. You're like one of those people saying an earring makes a man gay. Where I come from fucking a dude makes a man gay not an earring. And raping a child makes someone a child rapist not being attracted to a child.

  • What is the correct way to get support if I've lost access to my account?

I signed up for jmp.chat using Cheogram installed from F-Droid. It assigned me a new Snikket instance and a new Jabber ID there. It auto-generated a password. Today Cheogram is wouldn't launch at all. After a a reinstalled my saved auto-generated password is gone. Snikket told me to reach out to jmp.chat.

There is no email support. I tried messaging the support account ([email protected]) from another Jabber account and received a forbidden response. What should I do next? Just sign up for another number?
