With all the Remakes/Remasters happening these days, what's a classic PlayStation series you would like to see getting some love?
For me personally, I would love to see the Resistance series get some love. A collection with all the titles, including PSP, added together with upgraded graphics would be nice but I would really love to see a new entry into the series.
It's that or Legend of Dragoon but that's a real long shot.
I remember rumors of a new Parasite Eve being in production a while ago and it still hurts that it hasn't been made real. It would be nice to see them just remade with some modern-ish graphics.
I recently tried to go back to Parappa (as an adult now) and I cannot believe I ever enjoyed that game. That song is ingrained in my head forever and yet the game itself is soooo terrible. The timing is off, even when attempting to play to the song rather than what’s displayed, and it’s just maddening.
If you use an emulator, it would introduce input latency. If you use a modern TV, it would introduce display latency, and if you use a Bluetooth headset/speakers, it would introduce audio latency.
Sly Cooper would be fantastic on modern hardware. Thieves in Time is a lot better when emulated because it fixes the game's most glaring flaw compared to the PS2 games: load times. I can only imagine a Sly game designed to be run off an NVMe drive with modern graphical capabilities. I wonder how its art style would be adapted to higher fidelity.
I played the PS3 remaster (first game) and it works and looks great. It wouldn't really need much to be modernized. The style is more cartoony 2D-like look and that should remain I think. The modern R&C look wouldn't fit it too well, imo.
Not as a remake, but I'd like to have the previous Tekken games available on one console. So Tekkens 3 to Tag 2. The one I'd like most is Tekken 4 though.
Racing game-wise, as a remake or re-release, I'd love Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge (though it's not strictly Playstation only).
Burnout was one of two racing games I got addicted too in my very short racing collection. :) The other being Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. It would be nice to see a new entry into the series but I don't know if there is a market to revisit the series with all the popularity of Need for Speed, Gran Turismo, etc. One could dream though.
Carnage Heart, a modernized version of this could be really fun with modern online multiplayer you could run your robots against tons of others in the blink of an eye giving you quick feedback on how your tweaks to the code affects your standings.
