This is one of my favourite stories, but it is very, very long. There's a narrated version on YouTube with a runtime of 7:20:56.
I recommend reading through it a bit at a time. Read a few journal entries each day for as long as it takes to get through the whole thing. Heck, you could read one journal entry per day and have this be a project that takes you most of the year, if you start early next year.
