This episode had a PLE vibe: an excellent show!
Match of the night for me was the 6-man tag match between Imperium and DIY with The Miz. Amazing crowd reaction, probably because of the the hometown superstars. The post-match segment made me look forward to the 2nd Gunther vs Miz championship match. I feel like WWE will finally end Gunther’s record-breaking reign and give The Miz another IC title run, especially with the stipulation (Miz cannot challenge again during Gunther’s reign if the latter wins)
And finally a CM Punk segment that made up for the lukewarm promo on SmackDown. Witnessing Seth Rollins on the mic in front of Punk feels cathartic somehow, given their history. I also look forward to their future matchup, with title on the line or without.
Unfortunately the main event fell flat for me, a long-winded match that ends up with another red mist DQ and Cody beat up. A minor caveat to an otherwise excellent program!
