I mean it's not much of a change, considering a minimal amount of activity would result in you getting bombarded with super pushy sign-in popups.
With this and Reddit pulling the shenanigans they are pulling, it sucks to see a large portion of Google's results suddenly become useless, but it's nothing but a growing pain in the path to a more decentralized internet.
Me too. I'm not gonna be on a platform run by someone who just wants it to exhibit control over dissent + try and build his weird parasocial relationships with teens and children.
Nitter isn't working anymore though, and trying to view a tweet while logged out forces you to twitter.com/i/flow/login now so you can't just block the modal
Can you enlighten me how this works? I would love to be able to zap that modal :)
Even if its only another resource. I tried what i could find online but it keeps pushing me to the /i/flow/login
Yeah. It looks like I was mistaken and was in some sort of a/b test. The new version now redirect you to a login page, there is no modal anymore :( . Sorry for the false hopes.
I don't think so? It seems like you're directed to a login page. There is no modal and no content under it. I'm only on my phone now so can't be that sure, but it looks like it.
I only ever visited Twitter by way of embedded videos in articles and opinion pieces where they were linked. Now I'll never visit because I don't care enough to have an account. Great job Twitter!
I tried to log in recently and my account I had only used to follow a few people back in the day was banned. Then I tried to make a new account and it kept erroring out, sending me back to the home feed. Is Elon just doing all the programming himself now?
That’s good news. It probably means that they’re losing users like crazy and have to resort to shady practices like this one in order to force signups.
