  • Is Zoologist considered indie? I'm not interested in wearing most of their scents but I think they have so many cool ones! Some that fall flat, some that aren't as scary as people make them sound. And the bottle design is great.

Gallagher Fragrances has some bold scents and I bought Wicked Good and Rose All Dae.

    Makeup wise: Phytosurgence and Kaleidos.

  • Back when ThinkGeek was still around, they had a collection of D&D-themed scents, which happened to be created by BPAL. When I was in college, I missed the smell of fresh fall leaves and woodsmoke (having moved from a small town to a big city). BPAL was the first place I started looking, remembering their ThinkGeek collab, and now it's been a hobby that I dip in and out of.

Black Annis was one of the first scents I really fell in love with and wore almost every day as a freshman/sophomore. It's still up there for me, with scents like Abolish ICE and Night also high up on my tier list.

I also love bonfire / smoky scents, like Djinn, Scarecrow, Rumpelstilzchen, and Brimstone - I know they can be pretty harsh and overpowering, but something about them really strikes a chord with me.

I also "collect" body soap bars from local soapmakers, farmers' markets, and local craft shops when traveling. It's a great way to pick up a souvenir on a trip without buying something that will sit on my shelf for too long since I'll eventually use up all my bar soap. (Unlike all my BPAL imps.๐Ÿ˜‚)

  • My favorite perfume house (and the one that started my indie obsession) is BPAL. I started with a couple bottles from the yule 2020 collection, and it held there for couple a years. I rediscovered by bottles and love for perfume earlier this year. My collection has exploded, and I've been branching out into other shops. But BPAL remains dominant in my collection.

For skincare/bath and body, I've been really enjoying Fae Fragrance. I just got an order with some of the heavy hand cream and some lip balm. They are so nice! The prices are fabulous and so far the quality is great. I have terribly dry hands from the work I do, and living in nitrile gloves. The cream is so light and a tiny bit goes a long way.

And not quite indie, more boutique but I've been getting back into painting my nails to practice some more self care, and have been really enjoying my Mooncat polishes. I've hoping to check out the July PPU and explore some indie polish!

  • I guess I should start. Recently I've been very into Fyrinnae eyeshadows. I just discovered them not too long ago, and I've just fallen in love with how easy they are to work with. I've gotten sample sizes of a bunch of them and have to narrow my choices down to a few full sizes to get. I'll also be getting a full size of one of their finishing powders (Hollywood Sorcery) when it's back in stock. I've tried several of their fragrance testers, but unfortunately their scents just don't seem to agree with me all that much.

I'm not sure if Geek & Gorgeous is considered indie (probably?), but I've been really liking their A Game 5, C-Glow, and HA 5 Rich.

My favorite Etsy seller, who I used to buy soap and lip balm from, seems to have disappeared, which makes me sad.

  • Fyrinnae was what got me into indies! I enjoyed everything I've gotten from them, but nowadays I don't really do eyeshadow looks, so I haven't bought from them in a while. I've also enjoyed their perfumes in the past, but it looks like my old favorites were discontinued though. My favorite perfume houses are now Arcana and Fantome.

I love Witch Baby for their bath and body products. I basically use their body soaps, body butter, and body oil all the time. Sometimes the soap designs are so pretty, I don't want to use it. Fairy milk, Cord Cutter, and Hex Breaker are my favorite scents from them. Haus of Gloi is another good house for bath and body products too! I like their whipped soaps, pumpkin butter, and hair oil. Imp and Persephone's Descent are my scents of choice.

Athame & Alchemy is a great indie brand for wax melts. Their wax melts are super strong, and I really like that they use wax paper as packaging rather than plastic.
