The Gulf Stream transport of water through the Florida Straits has slowed by 4% over the past four decades, with 99% certainty that this weakening is more than expected from random chance, according to a new study.

  • Yay. I’m so excited for a new ice age in Northern Europe. Climate refugee sounds like such a delightful adventure.

    • Ice age? No. Western Europe will have cder winters and hotter summers.

      • I'm northern Europe, not western. I luckily live a little bit south of the arctic circle, but most of my coworkers do not. We're super reliant on the gulf stream to bring heat up here. If it stops, so do we.

        While Europe has been boiling this summer, it's been mostly quite pleasant here. There were a week or two with 30 degrees, but for the rest of it it's mostly been around 20-25. My coworkers have had to dig their cars out of snow drifts since some time in mid August I believe.
