Improvement - Zooming images is difficult

Pinching the screen (especially with single hand) doesn't reliably zoom images and I have to try multiple times to get it to work

This isn't surefire, but sometimes I'll double tap to zoom way too far in, but it'll put me in zooming mode and then I can zoom back out from there.
Honestly I have never experienced this. Does it happen with specific images or is it just random? What version are you using, 0.44?
- It happens with all images, but seemingly randomly. I'm using 0.45
  
  Edit: working off of @[email protected]'s comment, I've found that if I move both my fingers vertically in the same direction the image doesn't respond to further movements.
