How to word volunteer experience on a resume

Are we supposed to say it’s a volunteer role on the resume? Or do you save that information for something like a cover letter?

Did you have accomplishments, responsibilities, teamwork? Sell it like the best-damn flexible, opportunity anyone ever found.

Make it sound like a job role.
