Thank you everyone for all of the support and suggestions, please keep them coming and we'll continue to make Connect the best app for browsing Lemmy!
Wow, the app is fairly young and already feels a billion times better than the reddit app. It made the transition to Lemmy a lot more pleasant than I had expected. Thanks!
I've moved back to connect. You have to pay for premium on sync in order to get push notifications. Also I think connect looks better but that's subjective.
I switch between them. Connect on phones, always, and on one specific tablet that's set up for guests to use. We call it the toilet tablet lol.
On my tablets, I usually go with sync for the two column view with cards.
But connect has better theming options, particularly with the new color picker that lets you set your own background colors. That's been my biggest complaint about sync for a while, that I can't get a good contrast between cards and background. Makes it hard on my old eyes.
I also was pretty hyped for Sync and had the thought that I'll leave Connect behind when it comes out but...
honestly, Connect is the best client so far. By a lot, and I have a feeling it will stay the best for a long time, especially if kuro is this active with the development. I mean, come on, the dude pushes hotfixes in hours(!) for somewhat critical bugs that get reported here. It's amazing and kinda inspiring :D
I don't think we need the keep/discard prompt when exiting a comment any more, now that we have automatic drafts. In fact it's misleading, because "discard" still keeps the draft.
Hi, the new colour picker has a bit more control when choosing a colour and also let's you enter in hex codes to get the precise colour you're looking for.
I have to admit it was easier before, & from what I can see one person posted it as a request, with no other comments other than your own...unless this has been a previous request?... I'm sure I'll get used to it..
Cheers for replying 👍🏼
This is on version 141? Just to narrow down the issue does turning off 'mark read on scroll', 'swipe gestures', or changing to a list view have any effect? Just saying those 3 as they have the largest impact on memory.
Yes in 141. It happened with swipe gestures on and off (although a bit slower with gestures off), and I didn't have "Mark read on scroll" turned on at all.
I hope this helps.
Edit: I missed the list view note. I've been using card view. I'll check that next.
Looks like the messages at the bottom (Refreshed, Post hidden, Posted comment, Switched to _____ user) stay there forever until I down-swipe them. Maybe have them disappear after 10 seconds and/or when I enter a thread?
