What went wrong is pretty clear actually. The world is supposed to be below the plane at all times. Specially during and after landing until the engines come to a complete stop and the people get off the plane.

I turned it off when he said something like "and the fire? That was caused by the fuel."
It reminded me of that Louie clip about 10 people dying in a fire in the Bronx due a fire that killed 10 people in the Bronx
