The only good reason I can come up with is that they have cats. Cats would LOVE those corners.

This is just a case of a store showing a potential use for their different size cabinets. "Have a tiny ass basement? Shove these bad boys under the stairs"

The doors could have at least matched the angle of the wall

I have something like this on the top floor under the ceiling. It does save space and I'm too lazy to build something in place that would fit better.
Looking at that small gap above the tall shelf makes me feel extremely infuriated
This could actually be an optical illusion, and it's actually an overhang.
